Good Fences

Today I am joining Good Fences
Thank you Texwisgirl...

I love gates and fences...
she is ready to open a new gate...
a Senior with big dreams for the future...
you can't fence in the energy on these guys....
love seeing boys...being boys....

there is always someone in a family...
that just has to do their own thing....

 an old broken down fence...
but just look how sparkly...springy...this family looks...

what do you mean....I can't chase lizards today....
there was a lizard on that fence...
then it jumped and ran...
he really...really...really wanted to catch it....

 today was quite a day...
not one I want to repeat for sure...
first thing My Mom and I had sent flowers and chocolates
to my Aunt who just came home from surgery...
well come to find out...they didn't deliver the chocolates...
I called...and they acted like...
oh well do you want us to send them?...
well YES I do or I would not have ordered and paid for them...
hmmm what would have happened if Mom hadn't
asked her sister how the chocolates were...
we would have never known...
and they would have had an extra $19.99...

Second...I had defrosted some ground pork...
I had frozen it as soon as I purchased it...
I cooked it...but it had a foul odor...
so through it out...

Third....I went to pick Hotrod up from school...
I left my purse and phone in the truck...
was inside maybe 3 or 4 minutes...
doors locked...purse in the floor...not in plain sight...
someone smashed my passenger side window...
took my purse...and my phone right off my charger...

the lady parked next to me...
went in after me...came out before me...
she had her things in her car too...
she didn't see anyone around...
but they picked mine...

who ever did it was very bold...
there were people every where...
going in and out to pick up the kiddos...
broad daylight...

it is also a well traveled road...
I called the police...they took a report...
had to cancel our check cards...personal and business....
cancel my phone...order a new one...$125 deductible...
now my insurance on my phone is canceled....
had to go get a new drivers license...
my inhaler was in my purse...
I am so happy that I had called in for a new one...
this morning...even though it was 1/2 full...
I was out of renewals so I had called the Dr....
for once I didn't wait till the last minute...
now the window has to be replaced...
library card gone...
pocket knife my daughter gave me gone...
tape measure gone...
for once I actually had cash in my wallet...
around $100....I never have more than a couple of dollars...
two of my favorite lipsticks gone...
a lot of aggravation...
a feeling of violation...
a lesson learned...
don't leave your purse in your car...even for a minute...
even with the doors locked...

Happy 50th Birthday Jimbo!!!

this is my little garden nursery...
where I am starting all my plants for the garden this year...

 my cute little ducky....
with a new marigold...
I found this little watering can at the thrift store...

I have started Zinnias in my cute little pots...
I had to move my mint...it was growing too fast...

I found this knock out rose at Lowes...
they were $5 each...I'm gonna give it a try...
maybe some of my Mom and Step Mom will rub off on me...
they have great luck with roses...me...
not so much...
I have my front porch in red/white/blue...
I think our country needs more red/white/blue...
to remind us what the USA is all about...
seems to me to many people forget...
especially the ones that are in office...

This is me when I was 2 years old and 4 months...
remember when we were very specific on the months...
days etc. of our age...

This is me at 52 years old...24 days....
just doesn't have the same effect does it...
I was playing with my cell phone again...
of course back in the dark ages...
when I was a teen...we didn't have phones that took photos...

so I decided why not...just play a little...
when I was a teenager...I wouldn't have done it...
well at least I would not have shared it with anyone...
I would have taken the photos but never had them developed..
and definitely not shared them with the world...

I had the fan on so some are with my hair blowing...
you know...getting that super model effect...lol...
I only did a few touch ups to make the coloring better...
cause my cell phone doesn't do very well indoors...

Saturday night was my little brothers 50th birthday party...
The theme was 1964....
My Mom called and said she was going to dress like a hippie...
well I couldn't let her do it alone...
so I decided to get a little 1964 myself...

I went to the Dollar store to buy fake lashes...
well then I saw blue eye shadow...
so had to get some...
I remember wearing it in the 70's when I was a teen...
got home..tried to put on the eye lashes...
could only get one eye to stick...so gave up...
it's hard to put on with glasses..
and can't see to put on without them...
put on the blue eye shadow...with white under my brow...
went with the black eyeliner....

I had my blue big floppy hat...
with my initials on it...
a cool shawl with greens and blues...
and flat brown sandals like my Mom wore...
hers were real leather though...
mine where $6 at the Dollar Store...
she could pull off one of  those sandals...
paddle our backside...and have it back on...
before anyone knew what happened...
My brother knows this more than me...
I think he had a permanent sandal mark on his back side...

My Mom and I were the only two to dress up...
well Hubby wore a Hawaiian shirt...
but that is part of his normal attire...

but we sure enjoyed ourselves doing it...
I was on the phone with her...
as she was trying to decide what to wear...
I ended up going over to see what she come up with...
she looked as cute as could be...
my brother loved it...
he likes having a Mom that is different from the rest...
I love that too...as a kid...
I was shy...didn't like attention brought to me...
now...I think the more different you are...
the better...who wants to be just like everyone else...
no fun in that...
these photos make my eyes look blue...
they are really green...a more blue green...
when I wear blue...they look blue...
when I wear green they look more green...

I am really looking forward to Easter weekend...
my Hubbies family is having a family reunion...
It's going to be a lot of fun...
kids of all ages...
so Hotrod will have a blast too...

now that I've let it all hang out with the photos...
I will share a few things with you...you might not know about me...
1.  I am short...yep I admit it...4'ft 11'' with shoes
2.  I went to high school with Hubby...but we didn't know each other...I met him when I was 19...at a dance club...
he was such a gentleman and so sweet...I wrote my phone
number on his hand...after several days of not hearing from him...
I called one of his friends...telling him my BFF boy friend was
looking for Hubbies phone number...so he gave it to me...
I got up the courage to call him...well he thought I had given
him the wrong number...cause part of it had wiped off his hand...
he was happy to hear from me...we started dating...and
have been together ever since...

3.  My nickname in high school was Debo...had a western
belt with it engraved on it... The whole Urban Cowboy time...

4.  I rode a mechanical bull once when I was 16...I took my brother
and a few of his friends to a western wear store...they had the bull
there...my brother said I bet my sister will ride it...so I did...
I was sore for 2 weeks...dumb idea...

and finally...

5.  I had never been out of the state of Texas...until I was 14...
my Uncle drove me across the state line in to Oklahoma...
so I could say I had been out of Texas...

My Mom...the flower child Hippie...

love ya Mom!

you have to give squirrels credit...
they don't give up easily...

they don't mind getting in touchy situations....

or odd positioning...
they seem to enjoy a good challenge...
no matter how many times our border patrol...
(AKA Rooster...Ginger...Hatari)
run them off...they come back for more...

sometimes when I take a bad shot...
I just have to play with it...
I don't like deleting photos...
so I went to PicMonkey...
played with the brightness...
turned it black and white...
added a little shading...
I figure if the squirrels won't give up...
neither will I...
well old man winter is rearing his ugly head again...
we are cold and windy...
chance of frost in the morning...
one last blast before Easter...

Yoga for a three 1/2 year old boy....

 first step....
find the perfect place...
on top of a table...in front of the window....

 get into position....

 stretch.....
enjoy the warmth of the sunshine....

 lift a little weight....
your Pawpaw's binocular bag filled with cars...

try to lick your elbow...
watch your reflection in the mirror...
repeat...

 when you have a bucket...
what is the most logical thing to do with it???

balance it on your head of course...
a great way to work on balance...

coordination skills....
logical thinking...
now can you get this kind of entertainment...
or learning skills...
from a video game???
nope....(not in my opinion)..
the best skills are learned by trial and error...
hands on....touching...feeling...seeing...smelling...
it also is a great photo op for Oma...
and I got the bucket for 49 cents at a Thrift store...

Black and White Random Five Friday

today I'm joining Nancy at A Rural Journal
I do random well as you all know...

1.  I can't believe baby E is 8 weeks old...

 2.  I wish Senior photos were so cool when I was a Senior..
ours were all boring...cap and gown...
off the shoulder for girls...ties for guys...
now you see the personalities come out....

 3.  I love black and white photos....you can get
such a different perspective with them....

 4.  something about a tractor...just turns everyone into
a farmer for a moment....working with this tractor...was
a lot more work than the new modern ones...

5.  sometimes you just need a little color touches...
added to your black and white...and as most
of my blogger pals know I finally figured out
how to do it in PicMonkey...so I have been
doing a lot of playing with it...
If you get a chance stop by and see all the other
