a view of our new library...
suppose to open the first of next year....

I really love all the benches we have....
with nice views...
but usually the view is behind the bench...
so you miss out on it...

this is a nice covered pavilion....
great for a big Family picnic...

this is at our Veterans memorial...
 pretty flowers...
pretty water fall...
a great Memorial for all who have served our country....

 a nice woodsy view....
still no Fall changes in the leaves...

Today was a nice day weather wise...
I had lots of errands to do...
I got to start dinner a little earlier today...
I put a meatloaf in to cook...
the timer went off...
I pulled it out...
was pouring the excess juice out of it...
all the while telling myself...
don't drop it...
had almost all the juice gone...
the pan slipped out of my hand...
dumped all the meatloaf out...
so I had to start all over again...
ugh....not fun...
thank goodness I had the ingredients to do it...

my String bean is not a baby any more...
he is growing up too fast for this OMA....
he is learning to shoot a bow....
his Mom and Dad shoot bows...
Pawpaw is showing him how he does it...
all the while String bean is telling Pawpaw how it should be done...

 he showed up this morning...
one pants leg partially tucked in his boots...
the same way his Pawpaw looked when I met him...
always one pant leg partially in his boot...
never on purpose...just the way it ended it...
one of the things that endeared him to me...

 today was a busy day...
full of BOY things....
bows and arrows...
rocks...
 Hill climbing with his dog....

Athena was with him all the way....

Next was putting on his tool belt...
filling it up with his tools...
I've got work to do OMA....

the girls got in on the action....
Athena was trying to borrow a few tools...

then they decided to go for a pick up ride....
next step a little carpenter work.....
yep a real hammer and a real nail...
he worked really hard getting that nail through the wood...
Pawpaw got it started for him....
he worked on it for a good 30 minutes...
only hit himself once...
Oma gave a few whacks...
while he rested his arm....
he finished it up...
very proud of himself...
all this was done before lunch time...
after lunch he rode his tricycle and Oma rode her bicycle...
we had a fun filled BOY day....
on a beautiful Texas day.....
it was a beautiful weekend weatherize....
Saturday was a busy day...
had a nice shopping day with Mom...
we always have fun together...

Sunday I was up bright and early...
went on a service call with the Hubby...
came back got some chores done...
then I grabbed my camera...
did a little exploring in my own hometown...

this water tower belonged to my Great Grandfathers family...
they donated it to the City...
it always make for a good photo...

the park where it is located is called Heritage park...
with a few pieces of the past...
so everyone can take a walk back in time...
 Another park is Centennial Park...
My Mom...daughter and I like to call it Central Park...
from our time in New York...

I have lot's more photos to share...
I visited 6 parks...just on my side of town...
I got a lot of walking in...
exercise and photography...
my kind of afternoon...

I'm sure you are all hearing about Ebola in my area...
it takes up most of the news casts...
we are being cautious...
it is definitely a big concern...
I try to keep my thoughts on more important things...
like Stringbean...
the joy of being a 4 year old boy...

enjoying the beautiful days the lord is giving us...

enjoying a few secrets between friends...

a little quiet time...
to think about the joys of the world...
through the eyes of a boy and his dog....
because this is what life is really about...
family...pets...friends...the beauty around us...
simple things...

well there are tons of pins about PicMonkey...
since Sandra aka Madsnapper....
got me hooked on PicMonkey...
I had to do a little exploring...
well of course that leads to playing...
so here ya go...
I made several others too...

the winds were blowing so hard on Monday...
I'm surprised our little Superman didn't take off flying...

This is what a group of frisbee golfers look like...
at the end of the course...
you notice the old guys are in front...
not going to let those young wipper snappers pass them up...

Stringbean had a blast with his frisbee...

when I picked him up from MDO today...
his teacher told me he is the only one in his class...
that can write his name by himself...
he has really been working on it...
he wants to get his own library card...
you have to be able to write your name by yourself...
Tuesdays are usually Milkshake Tuesdays...
if he is good at school...
today he decided he wanted an ice cream cone instead...
it's actually frozen yogurt...
and I ask them not to fill it up too full...
he loves every minute of it...
I was Suzy homemaker today...
I made fresh Apple cider...
 fresh Apple Sauce...
Paleo Pumpkin bread/muffins...
Roasted pumpkin seeds...
Meatloaf for dinner...
cooler weather makes it more fun to cook...

We had a family picnic on Sunday...
My daughter's boy friends family...
our family...
I love when adults turn into children at the park...

this little guy is already 8 months old...
just seems like I did his new born photos...

 he is so much fun...
we all got a chance to get our baby fix...

 a little father son time...
you are never to old to enjoy a good swing...

the guys played frisbee or disc golf...
Stringbean was with them for every step...
about a mile and 1/2 course...

he loves tagging along with the guys...
he is growing up to fast for this Oma...
the guys got a good workout...
Stringbean became the caddy...
the girls had a nice time visiting...
and enjoying the baby...
I love Family Sundays...

It's starting to look a bit like Fall...
a cool front blew in last night...
with rain...
boy did we need the rain...

 this was before the rain...
we had a nice sunny day...
but Stringbean was in the mood to play with
a umbrella...so why not....

the best part was his imagination...
and the clear umbrella...
made it easy for me to see him...

 I love his imagination...
I hope he keeps it...

 the scarecrows look so happy....
finally out of storage...
that is until...
Athena decided to pull them all down...
we had to have a Scarecrow Hunt...
we found all of them...
no severe damage...

they will have to be put in safer locations...

This summer I had the privilege...
to do a photo shoot with my MOM...
My Mom is my best friend...
she is a lot of FUN...
I am blessed to have her!

she was 15 years old when she had me...
though she didn't graduate from high school..
she furthered her education on her own...
she has always been a hard worker...
a fast learner..
she ran an Accounts Payable office for a major Corporation...

 she is an avid reader...
music lover...
seamstress...artist....
jack of all trades...

 if something is broken...
she repairs it...
or finds a way to conceal it...
where you wouldn't even know it was broken...

 she is thrifty...generous...
a ball of energy....
she doesn't let grass grow under her feet...
she loves animals...people...
plants...life....
an inspiration to us all....
she loves the lord...
she loves her family and friends...

 she has raced cars...
lived in Branson Missouri...
met a ton of celebrities..
one being someone she loved while growing up...
Brenda Lee...
She is great Grandmother to Stringbean...
Grandmother to my Son and Daughter...
and almost 4 year old niece...

no matter what life throws at her...
she keeps on keeping on....
she shared her love of music with us...
all types of music...
Motown was big in our house hold....

she has always encouraged us to follow our heart...
to express ourselves...
even if it didn't fit in the mold of society...
we always knew and still know...
she is on our side...no matter what...
I love you Mom...
you are beautiful inside and out...
