A few more signs of Spring

grasshoppers...
flies...
butterflies...

beautiful sunrises
I'm not Catholic..
but every year I try to give up something for Lent...
so this year I decided to give up Internet on Wednesdays...
personal anyway...can't give up business...
so on Wednesdays till Easter....
no Facebook...
no Blogging....
no personal e-mails...
no Youtube...
just think how much more time I will have for other things...
like gardening....photographing...so if you don't hear from me
on Wednesdays you will no why...
Do you give up anything for Lent?

"Do you give up anything for Lent?"

Noooooooooooooo! I was catholic for over 60 years. And being so, drove me crazy. So in 2000, when I gave myself permission to think for myself, I saw the total silliness in all that catholic belief and rules stuff. And have been so much more at peace, ever since!!!!!!!!!!

Lent is merely a time for me to celebrate my FREEDOM! :-)

But you are so cute, giving up personal Net use, for Wednesdays. :-) Somehow, I don't think this will be a Horrrrrror, though. Betcha' you will adore having the excuse of.... I gave up personal Net use on Wed. for lent. :-) Betcha'.

Cause I am doing more of this not-as-tied-to-the-Net-stuff, and it's super!!!!!!!!!!

Choice! Guess it all boils down [for me] to doing what is my choice. For toooo long, I lost my choice. Silly me. I have grabbed it back again. :-)

E-N-J-O-Y your personal Net-less Wednesdays!

Gentle hugs...

I am Catholic and strong in my faith. Rather than give something up, I normally pick and read a religious book during this time.

I thought about you this morning. We have toast and coffee in our gazebo which sits under a big elm tree....full of birds! A pair of woodpeckers live in the tree and they were busy going back and forth to the feeder. We could hear them later tapping out their beat on the tree. The purle finches are here....we really enjoy watching them! Love this time of year. I just need to get out there in the yard! But there is so much to do in HERE first!

Good for you in giving up something for Lent. Whenever you think about what you are denying yourself, you will also think of Him, which is the only thing that matters. Blessings!

I predict you will enjoy your days off....

What a unique thing to give up for Lent. If you are like me, it certainly is a sacrifice to stay off the net for a full day.

I don't give up anything. I am not Catholic, but hubby is, so we eat Fish on Fridays during Lent. That is really not much of a sacrifice for me because I like fish.

Love the spring signs...except for maybe the grasshoppers. They scare me when they get nasty with our crops;))

No...I don't give anything up- but some days I SURE would love to give up my internet!!!

*Gasp* No internet for a whole day? Brave. Actually, that sounds like a great idea. And love your signs of spring, hoping spring comes quickly around here.

How nice to see the insects and more birds, all a sure sign of spring.
I used to give up chocolate when I was a kid, but now I don't eat it anyway, so I guess it's Lent all year!
