and if you click on the close-ups, you can see their spots are really tiny little hearts. :)
They are very intelligent birds, altho I know lots of folks don't like 'em for their population invasions. :)
Who knew? Very interesting. Don't Mockingbirds immitate other birds too? Or are they one in the same? I don't know...not very knowledgeable on birds.
What beautiful pictures! I have heard a mockingbird. I believe they are different birds than these? Not positive though?
My son just informed me that they imitate! I had no idea!!
Nice captures of these birds.
I have never been fond of starlings.....but the pics are nice and I am going now to check out the link you gave. Perhaps I will have a change of heart! We DO so love the mockingbirds though! I have listened to one do over a dozen different 'songs'....they are amazing! Which may account for it being the State Bird of Texas!
Beautiful birds and wonderful pics. Thank you!
Yikes! Mimic human speech!
Have you tried repeating some phrase over and over to them, when they let you come near?
:-)
Interesting info about starlings, Deb. We see lots of them here, but I've never seen where they nest.
