shabby chic....or just weathered and worn...

on wood they call it shabby chic....
but when people are weathered...
and showing the signs of age...
alot of times they get pushed a side...
and ignored....and not taken seriously...
but we have so much to learn...
from the folks that have lived longer than us...
so if you see a weathered and worn person...
give them a smile...say hello...
shake their hand....
you might just make their day...
and it might just make yours also...
you might learn something new....

Oh so very true indeed. I find my greatest joys in speaking with strangers while waiting.... in line, at the doctors etc. I hear some of the best advice, scriptures I may not have heard & sometimes they tell stories that make me feel less embarassed about my daily events living with a chronic illness. You just never know know who may lift you up. Hugs. T

Found you through Dawn at Cottage State of Mind. She's one of my all time favorite bloggers, and she spoke highly of you, so I had to come check you out!

What a coinscidence...My friend and I were just talking earlier today about how women in their
50's begin to be pushed aside..more and more.....until they reach the next decade when many think of them as if they no longer have anything intelligent to contribute to society.

I think it's a bit different for men...they get an extra 10 years before society shrugs them off as useless.

It'a a darn shame!
