pumpkin patch

Thank you everyone for the well wishes for my FIL...
we are still waiting on tests...
he has gallstones...
they need to remove the gallbladder..
but he has a leaky heart valve which can cause issues..
tomorrow they will run a scope to check his heart..
to see if he will be able to have surgery or not...
He is 80 years old and has dimentia...
so far he has had to have security in his room...
he suffers from sundown syndrome...
at night he gets very disoriented...
especially when he is not at home...
he has hit and kicked nurses...
accused them of taking his wallet...
he escaped to the parking lot yesterday...
had to spend the afternoon in the nurses station...
he is not an easy patient.....so this makes
treating him even harder...
Tonight we are celebrating my Moms 65th birthday...
believe it or not we will have the whole family together...
will be a welcome break....

I love the photo of little britches and the pumkin patch, the two hands are wonderful, one so small and one so big.
thanks for the update on FIL, i can relate to what you are feeling. my dad had the same thing, not the gall stones but the dementia and the sundown thing. daddy spent most of his time in front of the nurses station and had a close pin thingy that went off if he stood up. his home had alarmed doors to keep them in and warn when they got within 3 feet of the door.
enjoy your moms birthday, tell her happy birthday from blog land.

Am so sorry to hear about your FIL. That must be awful to have dementia. Hope your mom has a happy 65th birthday. Another stepping stone in this journey of life. Thanks for sharing.

This same situation happened with my beloved grandmother. It is very sad and so hard to deal with.

Sadness...

Glad you had a happy celebration, to help though. My Daughter was born on Oct. 30th. :-)

Gentle hugs,
