Grudges and hate...

I've never been one to hold a grudge...
I read on facebook today...
Holding a grudge is letting someone live
rent-free in your head...
so true...

I've never liked the word hate....
it is a very strong word...
it is okay to dislike someone or something...
but hate is horrible...

Grudges and hate are harmful...
they will effect your whole life...
they are like a cancer...

I applaud people that can forgive...and forget...

I'm not saying you should let people hurt you...
or run over you....
you don't have to keep them in your life...
and don't let them take control of your life...
sit it aside...look for the good things in your life...
find the joy around you....

grudges and hate will hurt you....
way more than the person you have the problem with...
let things go...move on....
use your anger for something good or constructive...
hit a punching bag...dance like your rear end is on fire...
laugh till you drop....clean like a mad person...
swim laps...run laps...clear your head...
volunteer to help someone...
volunteer at a pet shelter...
before you know it...that grudge or hate...
will leave...you will find yourself feeling so much better....
your mind and body will thank you...

All true- grudges always hurt you more than the person you hate. Pretty flower- what is it?

I do not like the "H" word at all.
I know that I was able to let go of something that was painful and it is a wonderful freedom. That flower is amazing. I have never seen one before.

You are so right! I can't hold a grudge and I don't think I've ever hated anyone. There are a few people I don't care for, but that's about it.....I forgive but I sometimes can't forget.

Well said Debbie!
My Aunt and Uncle who I both love, are in a hateful family feud.
They just sit and stew and nothing good has come from it.
And no one wants to take sides because we love both of them.
Important to let it go and move on and forgive too.
Hugs friend,
Cindy

SO, SO true! When my husband left, I had alot of hurt to get rid of, so I volunteered as a Victims Advocate. For 6 years I worked to help victims of crime. Every night I came home so thankful for my blessings and my peaceful home. Changed my life.

I like the statement about holding a grudge is like letting them live rent-free in your head. Very good analogy and great post, Deb! I need to hear this after my week! ~ Thanks.
