Tomatoe.....Tamatoe....

last year we only got a handful of tomatoes...
this year...we have an abundance...
we are sharing with our loved ones...
it feels good to share our bounties...

with the prices of groceries rising....
gardening may become more of a necessity...
than just a pleasure...

there seems to be more and more things...
that I just refuse to buy any more....
the prices are so outrageous...

I seem to be sticking to the basics...
fresh fruit and veggies....frozen veggies...
meats that can be stretched...
dried beans...
I guess it is a much healthier way to eat...

have you noticed your giving up on some things...
because of the higher prices?
what do you refuse to give up?
what do you miss because you just won't pay the price?

hubby love steak and he has pretty much given that up because it is to expensive plus not good for his heart. we still buy what we want, and i moan and groan and say DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THIS COST? and you forgot to mention the benefits of growing your own tomatoes is TOMATO ART

Oh, I miss having a garden! Well, I should clarify that we only had one once! But, I think we are still eating jalapeƱos my husband canned!

I need to give up a lot of stuff and am working on it! :)

My tomatoes are doing very well....too hot and no rain. I water them but it just doesn't seem to be the same.

I love fresh tomatoes...vine ripened....yum!

You are right about prices. We've given up many things that just don't seem to fit in the budget anymore. I wish I had room for a garden.

Ohhhh look at those delightful home grown tomatoes!!!!!!!!!

I guess I mentioned this in a post of mine, some time ago...... That husband has one cup of coffee a day, first thing in the morning. I refuse to buy the cheaper brands. I stick to buying Cho_k F_ll Of Nu_s, because it's yummy. ,-)

Oh yes, eating from a pallet of the basics, is much healthier!!!!!!

They look wonderful. I only have one Roma tomatoe plant. Had one tomato that my husband and I shared. It was delicious. Now there are 5 more growing.

I hardly eat meat of any kind anymore. I wish I could afford to buy more seafood. I love the stuff! I'm growing tomatos too. Hopefully next year I will be able to plant a full fledged garden.

Gorgeous tomatos! I'm getting a handful each day - not many. But the taste is heaven! I think the varmits are eating more than I am. And I found honeybees on the hummingbird feeder today.
