we got to the lake early on Sunday...
claimed our space...
we were excited to find the space we wanted was available...
cleaned the picnic tables...
pulled out the table clothes my Mom made me...
notice the cute apron on the table...
My Mom made it for me....
since I lost the one at the auction...

we got a great space...with a nice little beach...

I picked a few wild flowers for the table...
we were all set up...ready to enjoy our day...

we noticed a helicopter circling around the lake...
we think maybe it was someones Fathers Day present...
we saw another one later in the day....

Mom found all kinds of cool rocks to add to her collection.....

hubby got his fishing poles set up...

woo hoo a fish...we decided it was probably a $40 fish...
after all the minnows we have bought the last month...
we think it is a Buffalo...it was set free...

hubby is giving daughter a fishing lesson...
you know he is the big fisherman of the day...

Rooster is enjoying his day too...
I think he was getting a fishing lesson also...

I'm so proud of my daughter....
she is teaching herself to knit....
she thinks it is going to be an afghan...

Mom enjoying the scenery...

later in the day we say three military helicopters flying in..
hoping it was Dad's coming in....
hoping they will get to see their loved ones...
feeling a little sad...a little proud...
I wanted to wave a flag at them...
let them know who much we appreciate all they do..
so we can spend the day at the lake...
feeling safe...

I looked under the picnic table and saw this...
had to photograph it...
Lake feet....
so worth it....

that looks like a fine father's day celebration. Too bad you didn't get fish for dinner. :)

i have three favorites, can't decide which one is the MOST favorite. the lake feet, your mom on the rock and fisherman Rooster. i am wondering if the bait was a tennis ball on the hook. whoo hooo what a day you had. mother never let us eat on a picnic table without using a table cloth. she had a red and white and blue and white checkered cloths and they went to every outing. sometimes she would spread it on the hood to the old 53 pontiac and we ate standing up.

Lovely, perfect, fun day!!!

Happy Midsummer's Night Eve!

"I know a bank where the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine..."

Good pics especially the foot and paw. Your daughter looks like she's going to town on the knitting. I like the color she picked to knit.
