Bridges....

some are for trains to cross...
some are for people to walk through....

some are for vehicles to drive on...
A bridge is a structure built to span a valley, road, body of water, or other physical obstacle, for the purpose of providing passage over the obstacle.

What would be do without bridges...
to get us from one location to another...

Bridges can be a work of art, can't they?

There are so many different and pretty bridges. I love the old covered bridges like in Bridges of Madison County.

Your post also makes me think of the bridges in our lives. Something to think about.

Have a good day and weekend.

I'm glad we have them although at times they can make me nervous...

Now those first two are quite nice, I can appreciate them and have no trouble crossing them. But that last one! No way! I drive miles, even hours out my way to avoid bridges like that! If we come across one we have to cross, I hold on so tight I rip holes in the upholstery and have white knuckles, no breathing or looking either! Well, unless I'm driving, but you can be we'd never go that way again! Did I mention heights get to me?

Hugs,
Dawn

Hi Deb. The photos of the bridges are really neat. I live in a city of bridges. The call Jacksonville the river city and there are lots of bridges between the river and inter coastal waterway.

Thanks for stopping by. It did make me feel better sharing. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who feels overwhelmed with the yard. You're so smart to scale back. I've got to figure out how to do that. Most of my yard is in the front and on the side so I'm going to try to make that more manageable. But I have this tiny like shade yard behind the back of the house that I'm looking forward to doing something special with.

That is really cool that you had the willpower to lose that much weight. You must have tons more energy. I've got to quite whining and do something. Thanks for coming by and leaving a comment. It's so nice to hear from you.

Have a fun weekend. oooxxx's....Tracy :)

If you ever make it to Virginia, you'll have to try and hit Natural Bridge. It's beautiful and would make a wonderful addition to your collection of bridge photos.

Just got to read your post on the trestle photo where you road the dirt bike in the rain. That sounded like a perfect afternoon to me - even if the rain did hurt. There's something about "playing in the rain" that makes me feel like a kid again.

When Alex was a little over a month old, my mom came for a visit, and we went to the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, VA. (Add that to your list of must-sees, too, if you're ever in VA.) We weren't really planning to go that day, but we needed to get out of the house so the cleaning lady could do her thing without us being in the way. We left wearing our t-shirts and shorts, no makeup, and hair in ponytails. We hit the memorial, and it rained the whole time. We just had the best time! It's one of my favorite memories - "playing in the rain...."

Deb, love these photos. I do love to look at bridges, but I really don't like to drive over the really high ones. That last one would do me in! We found a neat old trestle bridge while we were out and about. So much more pleasing to the eye than the new concrete ones. Hope you have a fun weekend! Kathy
