Confessions of a lazy gardener...

Last spring I decided to start scaling back on my yard work...
it seems my flowerbeds and yard had became a chore...more
than a love...don't get me wrong...I love flowers...I love plants..
I love having a nice yard....but I love fishing...going for motorcycle
rides with my hubby...floating around our little pool...drinking lemonaide or a frozen margarita ... going on road trips....and there is not enough time for all...so I got rid of several of my flowerbeds....and will be getting rid of more this spring....I've decided less is definately more...I think I will
do more potted flowers for the patio and front porch...and have more
grass in the yard...easier to take care of...my hubby is not into yard
work...would rather have cement everywhere...don't get me wrong...
he likes to see a nice yard...just doesn't want to be part of the process..
I appologized to my neighbors for how I had let my yard go....they said...
they enjoyed seeing us taking off on the motorcycle...more than seeing
me out there working my tail off.....so I have became a lazy gardener...
and I'm not ashamed of it....Got any good confessions you would like to share with us????

I love yard work but I'm only a fair weather gardener. From March until July 4th and then I'm done with it. Mine isn't looking too good right now either. I would like to confess that I have piles of laundry in my closet right now. To heck with it!!! Let's drink margarita's!

This wonderful post reminded me of my favorite saying:

it is what it is.

Keep doing what YOU like1

Good for you! I'm a lazy gardener too and I don't even have a motorcycle to blame it on. I think I just like air condition too much.

I don't blame you, it can be very time consuming. When it's hot in the Summer it takes nearly an hour to water, it can be relaxing though.
Congratulations on the new grandson on the way! Girls are sweet, but little boys come with their own brand of specialness as I am sure you know!

Love the wispy clouds! I scaled back a few years ago myself. Now everything in my beds come back on their own. Mostly things that don't need much attention. LANTANA!!! Mexican Heather! LOL...

No need to feel guilty! Just do what YOU want to do no matter what others think - whatever makes you happy!

I miss my yard work :( I don't have a yard at the moment though so that's a pretty good excuse LOL

Popping over from Teaas Blogging Gals! It's nice to "meet" you!

You're very wise - the worst thing for a garden is for it to be a chore.

We only use the word 'yard' in Britain to mean a paved area, e.g. 'back yard' would mean a paved patio, or a fenced-off, paved area. I wonder how the difference came about in American English?
