wow I felt like a little piece of me was missing...
with Blogger on the fritz....
I couldn't check on all my pals...
or post....so glad it's up and running again...
this is one of the wildflowers I brought back...
it's starting to bloom again...
I was so excited to see the little blooms....
hopefully the Indian Paintbrushes will come back next year...
hubby and I have been having quite the fight debate...
about our garden....he was ready to pull everything up...
and start over...I said let's give it time....
we ran into a snag with a frost....
I'm thinking that and maybe too good of drainage...
cause a problem....nothing was growing...
the leaves were looking yellow...
Hubby was ready to throw in the towel...
he handed it over to me....so I started watering it more...
put some miracle grow on it...started talking to it...
telling it how nice is was doing....how I had faith in it...
we have tomatoes on the vines....
the vines are starting to fill in...
turn green again....
I added a few new plants...
just to give inspiration to the ones trying so hard....
well it's not a perfect garden...
the plants aren't as big as my Mom's or FIL'S...
but they are improving....and trying really hard...
what more can you ask from them....
I planted more okra seeds..they came up in 4 days...
now the other plants are starting to grow...
they went atleast 2 weeks without growing...
I told hubby it is because he walked around fussing...
talking about how ugly the garden was...how we should
pull them all up....Don't get me wrong...
I feel his frustration..he put a lot of time in...
the design of the boxes...building them...
the back breaking labor filling with soil....
but he of little faith was giving up too soon...
me and my critter friends are cheering them on....
we know you can....we know you can...
my strawberries have been dug up 3 times...
only lost one plant...
one canteloupe plant was dug up 2 times by Miss Ginger...
but it is still fighting along....
Have a great weekend....
say a few nice words to your garden....

Welcome back to Blogger! :-)
Hooray for positive thinking. And water and Miracle Grow.
Only 'garden' I can speak nicely to, is some pots of flowers and 2 tomato plants. 2 containers, containing the tomato plants which we hope, will grow un-side-down... Hung from hooks... On the posts of our fence... And well above where the EEEEEEEEEEvil Binder Weed can attack them.
Btw, I do not say anything nice to the eeeeeeeeeevil Binder Weed every day, as I spray it with Round Up. That which is coming up through all that was laid down, by the landscaper. :-(
~♥~
i bet you talk and sing to them as you tend them too. :) hubby: hush!
Looks like it's doing good now. A kind word goes a long way....
You must have a magic voice Deb! I haven't been able to post to blogger either! Have a great weekend!
Your garden is coming along....
it's a weird year/weather for everything this year.
We had some rain yesterday, the first rain we've had in months......Yea!
I always talk to my plants. I truly think they respond to it, really! Or at least I like to think so...
