warning...I'm on a bit of a rant today...

why do people in customer service jobs...
feel the need to complain about their jobs to the customers??

when I go out to dinner...
I don't want to hear my waiter or waitress...
complain about how tired they are...
how they don't like the way things are going at their job...
when I go out...I want to have a pleasurable time...
I want to leave my day behind....and enjoy myself...
how can I enjoy myself if I'm surrounded by negative...

it is every where you look....
stores...tv...news....magazines...
people complaining non stop....
what happened to professionalism....
service with a smile....

last night we met friends at a local bar/eating establishment...
we've have had the same waitress for a couple of years now...
they opened a new location...and she was moved there...
she complained about how many hours she is working...
she complained about the way the place is being ran...
she basically had a pitty party every time she came to the table...
then I noticed she was doing the same thing to all her tables...
or atleast to all her regular customers...
It annoyed me to no end...
Hubby said well maybe she just needed to vent...
and that she knows us so she vented to us...
but you know what it made my evening a downer...
I'm sorry she is tired...
I'm sorry that it is not running smooth there yet...
They have just been open a week at the new location...
it takes time to get things running smoothly...
but really....do I need to hear this all night...
Is it just me or is is rude?
when I go out for entertainment...
I want to enjoy myself...
okay...I said my piece...
(Smiling) Have a nice Day....

Love that first picture... and ya..know where you are coming from... you don't need other peoples DRAMA!!

especially when you are paying for your relaxation!

Of course you didn't need to hear this all night!

Mmmmmmm, is this person trying to lose her job?!? I'm sure your economy is the same as it is, all over. So I'm sure there are gals waiting to take her job... If her boss feels that she is not-good-for-business.

-shakes head- Is it the *I Am Entitled* attitude which pervades our Dear Country, now days? "I don't deserve this..." "I don't deserve that..." "But I do deserve a lot of hand-outs."

-sigh- And I wouldn't be quick to return to that place. Betcha' there are plenty of others places to gather, with friends.

I agree, Deb. I work in the service industry and I cringe whenever I hear one of our employees pouring out their personal problems to a customer. They can get very friendly with regulars and I think they feel like they are good friends and they tell them way more personal stuff than they should. Customers should never have to put up with that!

It is very rude!

That is one of my pet peeves. If I owned a business and caught my employee complaining to the customers, I'd say, "take a walk"...

I love the first picture!

We don't go out much, but if something like that happened -- I'd feel nervous and anxious every time she came to the table. And yes, I probably would not go back. (I wouldn't rat her out though -- wouldn't want her to lose her job over it.)

Like the sculpture! I work in customer service, and most of the time, if I have to complain, I at least try and do it humourously! I think my best is declaring frequent "Bring Your Screaming Child to the Mall" Days. Customers do tend to appreciate that one...

And of course, little britches never screams...
