Be a tourist in your own home town...

we do have wildflowers here in Texas...

it amazes me how they can survive...
the heat.....the drought...

wild flowers are my favorite....

hubby and I went on a hike on sunday....
the weather was perfect....

the surroundings were amazing....

we had a nice stretch of the legs...
it was a little over 3 miles...
the terrain was a little rugged in places...
but we both held up...
hoping to go back again...
it is amazing that there is so much
going on in our area that we don't even know about...
I've been trying to expand our horizons...
looking for new things to do in our area...
Do you like exploring new things in your area?
Sometimes it is fun to pretend you are a tourist...
in your own home town...
amazing the things you find...

So true....you go away and think WOW this is neat..but you actually have the same thing maybe better at home...we just don't take the time to enjoy it.

I like your attitude about your own town -- we often get so caught up in doing things around the farm on the weekends, that we forget about the outside world. Not good. :)

I was a tourist my town this past weekend, too! I see the liatris (purple tall flower) is a native to Texas. I did not know that.
Glad you had fun exploring your own town.
