I've been taking photos of my neighbors tree...
for a long time now....
today when little britches and I went for our walk...
this is what we saw...

they trimmed all the dead wood...
out of my spooky tree....
the place where birds have been meeting...
spring...winter...summer ...fall...
where will they hold their meetings...
it kinda made me sad....
it looks so bare over my fence without it...
it was like loosing a landmark...
I'm sure the neighbors don't even realize what they did...

We had a few that looked like that -- one had to be taken down. It was sad as well -- it was an old tree.

It is always sad to see a tree go...I know you (and the birds) will miss that one.

Well, you got some good pictures of the tree before they cut it down! I love the one with the birds and that's what I thought "The Birds" :)

So do you use the wood for fire wood?...Hubby would love to get his hands on those logs...for our long winters:)

Well a bittersweet problem for sure. It probably needed to be cleaned out - maybe for it's own health - but then the cleaning out changed the life you had with the tree.

So sorry.

well this is a sad moment. I love old dead trees and I know the birds will miss it as you do. not all people see beauty in the dead trees. for me they make the landscape. only take them down if they are dangerous.
we have 2 neighbors who are constantly hacking on their trees, live trees, making them so ugly, and that frost my cookies too

How our neighbor's actions, can bring joy or sorrow!

With you, the top dead wood was a fixture, over the fence... And they decided to get rid of it.

With us, the boyfriend of woman next door, is a wild man about planting trees. Our range of view is being more and more curtailed, as these icky trees keep growing and growing.

I love trees, and we had plenty, around the neighborhood. Love the view of them, out our patio doors, for years. But now, it's getting like a forest view. I have a forest view, out front door. Don't need one in back tooooo!

Weird thing is, they seem to have broken up and he's gone. But his damn scrub trees remain, forever. Bleahhhhhhhh...

Thank you for allowing my rant, my Dear. :-)

Boo Hoo! Now where will the birds congregate? The neighbor behind us has a dead tree, too, but only an occasional crow or two stop there.

It is sad seeing a part of the neighbourhood go, like that old tree. There is a branch on my elm tree that is starting to look like that...
