Mothers Day ideas

it is hard to believe today is the last day of April..
this month flew by...
Mother's Day is just around the corner...
it got me to thinking...

my favorite Mother's Day gifts have always been the simple...
heart felt ones...made by my children...
homemade cards...crafts from school...

so I decided to put together a list of things...
I think most mothers would love to have....
all they take is a little time and imagination...

  1. a home made card...with photos...a poem...or just heartfelt words..
  2. a top ten list of your favorite childhood memories
  3. a coupon book with errands or chores (make sure they are ones you can and will complete)
  4. if you are a musician or singer...play or sing a special song for your Mom
  5. photos of the grandkids are always great...snapshots are better than the studio type...
  6. a date with your Mom...doing something she enjoys...doesn't have to cost a dime...can be a picnic lunch and a stroll...or sitting on the porch swing with iced tea and photo albums...remembering fun times
  7. if you are a blogger do a blog post with all the wonderful things about your Mom...or even a facebook post....
  8. pick a bouqet of wildflowers and put in an unusal vase...thrift stores have tons of things to make vases out of...or decorate a jar or can...
  9. if your Mom is a crafter...ask to spend an afternoon crafting with her...you might just learn something
  10. time....take time to spend with your Mom...show her how much she means to you...tell her what you have learned from her
All a Mom wants is to feel like her children love her...
and appreciate her...the fancy gifts...expensive meals...
aren't important...her reward is her children...
showing their love in their own special ways...
true feelings always outway money...

So true, all I want to know is that my children and grandchildren love me. I really don't want anyone to make a fuss over it on Mothers Day.

i have not mothers to give to, all of mine are gone to be with the Lord. but these are great ideas. my mother was so easy to please, any or all of these would have made her ecstatic.

What a great list....I've always told my children that homemade stuff or pictures or just calling to say I love you is all I want! :)

Sounds wonderful. I wish my mom were closer, and I blogged about her last year. This one is hard...

I love homemade gifts the best- my daughter is really great at coming up with unique ideas every year. Great shots of the clouds!

You're so right. Almost any mom cares more about the simple gift of time and/or memories than any expensive item one might purchase.

Great ideas! I'm trying to figure out what to do with my mom. These ideas trigger the brain, and that's a good thing for Mom! Thanks for bringing attention to Mother's Day well before the day. My mind's been on papers, finals, and summer school (already). I appreciate you.
