It's still raining....

yesterday was Elvis' birthday...
I always loved his music....
and even his movies...
my all time favorite.....Blue Hawaii...
I remember watching it with my Mamaw...

Hotrod and I have started a journal...
I got a composition book...
I'm hoping to do something in it every day...
Today we glued on a letter A...
put on some star stickers...
he colored a bit on it with map pencils...
then we used markers on a B and 2 stencil....
I wrote his name...he new each letter as I wrote it...

he also recognizes so many words now by sight...
Ford...Nissan...Walgreens...Kia...
he is really into cars and truck...
My daughter named her car silver bells...
Hotrod and I have been trying to come up with a name for my truck... he didn't like any of my ideas...
out of the blue yesterday we were driving down the road...
he said Bubba...your truck is named Bubba Oma...
I like it...Bubba it is...
I drive a F350 ford truck with a flatbed...
I think Bubba is very fitting...
I picked him up yesterday so he could spend more
time with his Mommy before she went to work...
we were driving down the highway...
he said look Oma there goes Silver Bells...
sure enough my daughter passed us on the highway...
one day we were coming back from errands..
he said Daddy's truck is at 7-11...sure enough...
his Daddy was at 7-11...
one day we were going to meet his Mommy at the Dr. office...
headed down the highway...he said...
there's Mommies truck....sure enough his Mommy
just pulled on the highway...
it just amazes me how much they notice...
also makes you remember...how much they notice...
sure makes you watch your P's and Q's....

You are so right about needing to be aware of how much they notice...we can't get away with anything with little ones around. ;)

I just love the idea for the journal. My oldest daughter first read word was Pepsi - from the big letters on the Pepsi trucks.

You two are starting a Journal now! I've said it before and I'll say it again... What a lucky little guy, is Hotrod... Being taken care of, by you!!!!!

Mmmmm, yes. They do notice. And watch out because the do parrot-back things they notice. Eeeek!

Can you imagine how it is for little Gabe next door? With older siblings. 2 brothers who like nothing better than to get him to .... Do many things. LOL!!!!!!!!!

this is amazing, when my sons, 46 and 48 were HR's age, they did not say or notice things like that. i love the name Bubba. we name our cars/trucks to. always have but it just occurred to me, the two we have now are not named.

Bubba is a good name for your truck. That little Hotrod is smart! Your truck name will be extra special because he named it for you. Hugs

Bubba! I called my old car Lucy! I have no idea how boys seem to know about cars! I see a truck the same color as my husband's and I'm sure it's his!

What a perfect name for a truck!!!!

You're so wise to start a journal! Sure wish I'd done that. I remember our grandchildren saying cute things and I thought I'd remember....... maybe a few things, but so much is gone forever.

I've had the covers over my head for a few days, so I really have to get caught up.
You say how much they know - when B. was tiny, not walking yet, her father carried her past the door to our apartment, on down the hall, and watched her head turn to look at our door as he walked past. How could she know that?

My daughter at around 3 was able to get a friend of mine who had picked her up from montesorri school while the hubby and I were out of town from the school to our home about 13 miles away going the back streets the she and I travelled every day. I couldn't believe it. She didn't know the street names of course but she knew the land marks. Kids pay way more attention than you think don't they.
