Happy 70th Birthday Aunt Rachel

Today my Aunt Rachel is 70 years young...
she was an only child and married into a large family...
must have been a big adjustment...
her family lived across the street from my Nana...
She married my Uncle Gary...
She has 3 children and 4 grandchildren with another on the way...
My Aunt Rachel has never forgot my birthday....
I always receive a card from her every year...
she is the family calendar...
she knows all the birthdays...anniversaries etc...
that is a lot to keep up with with such a big family...

she came to visit me at the hospital
when both my kiddos were born...
She is always there when needed by her family...

Mason her oldest grandson has a story to share-
One night Mimi had made tea with the coffee port
and had just poured it in the pitcher.  When Mason
drank it, it was not the amazing sweet tea he was use to,
so he asked her about it, she was so tired that she
told him that is was suppose to be cake, we still
talk about the coffee-tea (cea) We love you Mimi!!!

Happy Birthday girl; May this be the best ones yet!
So good to see you at Dotties..
God Bless- Donnis

One Christmas, Mimi gave Ruby a boy baby doll named William (that is her Dad's name) and when Ruby opened it and took off the doll's hat there was a TON of black hair. It also wasn't the cutest doll in the world!

Ruby said "Mimi--you sure are a funny shopper" It was hysterical!

These are some of her daughter Tandy's favorites foods she makes:
CHICKEN ENCHILADAS

PEANUT BUTTER BON BONS

SWISS STEAK--SHE MADE THIS WHEN I WAS REALLY YOUNG AND WE LIVED ON TANGLEWOOD IN IRVING

ORANGE BALLS

CATHEDRAL COOKIES

NEIMAN MARCUS CHEESECAKE

ICED TEA--SHE MAKES THE BEST IN THE WORLD!

all photos stolen borrowed from Face Book...

Tiffany's families favorite Mimi foods:
Cathedral cookies
Peanut butter bon bons...

RACHEL IS MORE THAN A
SISTER-IN-LAW...
SHE IS MORE LIKE A SISTER ..
A ASSET TO OUR FAMILY....
SHE IS THOUGHTFUL....
 KIND AND LOVING...
I APPRECIATE ALL THAT SHE DID FOR MOTHER......(Nana)
DON AND I TRAVELED MANY MILES WITH SHE AND GARY, AND SEVERAL MILES WITH HER  "just resting her eyes".
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RACHEL, YOU ARE DEAR TO ME.....
  DOROTHY

Well Happy Birthday Rachel. I wanted to take us down memory lane. This story is way down memory lane. Seems like you have always been in my life.
Let us take a trip back to when we were neighbors on English St, you lived across the street from us. If I get the dates wrong I am sorry, but I know I am close. In the year 1957 or 1958, you drove a shiny green 1941 Ford with the song "Raunchy" (by Bill Justes) beautifully written on the rear fenders. One Saturday you invited me to take a trip out to Grapevine Lake with you. With the windows up and the top down we drove across the Damn and pulled off to the left of the road and sunned on a big rock. I think we talked about everything in the world. It was a cloudy day, but you did turn a little pink. On our way home we stopped at The Broken Cookie Factory and bought boxes of cookies. Thanks for being my Sister and I could go on and on with stories, but I want to save a little room for everyone else. Again, Happy Birthday and may The Lord place His Blessings upon you today and everyday. Love Ya lots, Judy
Aunt Rachel- I remember when Tiffany and I
were little you would put us in the bath tub and scrub and
scrub on us...we were dirty little girls...
Thank you for being a great Aunt...Love Teri

Aunt Rachel- you have always been closer than an Aunt...
you are a very important part of our family...
your home has always been welcoming.....
everyone always looks forward to going there....
Ryan and Sarah always loved your Easter Egg hunts...
The 4th of July parades...
fishing...
we would spend the weekends with you...
and not want to go home...
You were like second grandparents to Ryan and Sarah...
Happy Birthday...Love you...Donna Susan...

Happy Birthday Aunt Rachel...
I hope your day is as special as you are to the family...
