I had an awesome birthday weekend...
Saturday night was party #1....
it was a great night for a party...
I had family...old friends...and new friends...
one of my new friends was a blog pal...
Linda...from Linda's Life Journal...
she is such a sweet heart...
she will also be the grandmother of Quads this year...
3 girls and one boy...
lot's of excitement in Linda's world...
Thank you so much for coming...it really meant the world to me...

I had friends from high school...friends I've known for years..
My beautiful Mom was there...
my son and DIL came...my son brought his guitar...
he sang for me..my heart was full...
he wrote a song about my FIL...
his Grandpa that made me weepy...
my daughter was the perfect hostess...
making sure everyone was well taken care of..
my hubby entertained everyone with his stories...
we good music...good drinks...good food...
good conversations...
the last of our guests left at 2:45 a.m...
it took me awhile to wind down to go to sleep...
then is was back up again...
hubby...daughter and I went to breakfast...

Then is was party #2...
our Family party...
my brother...SIL...niece..
my BIL...SIL...nieces and a my nieces boyfriend...
my Mom...
my daughter...
my son...DIL...little britches...
my Dad and step Mom...
all here for a hamburger cook out...
hubby makes a great burger..
it was a nice day...the weather was great...
so much fun watching the babies together...
my Dad brought little Britches a vintage tricycle...
with his name on it.. even a bell...
soon as he saw it...he said ride it...ride it...
it's still a little big for him to pedal...
but he sure like being pushed around on it...
I enjoyed showing off my Mom and my Dad's talents...
they are both artists in their own ways...
I am fortunate to have them both in my life...

I am very blessed to have all of these people in my life...
and to have such wonderful blog pals...
I like the idea of being 50...
I can just be me....and not care what others think...
age is a number...
what's in your heart is what is important...
the people around you...your loved ones...
that is what is important...
I loved all the gifts I received...
but more important I enjoyed the time spent...
the memories made...

Deb,
Happy Belated Birthday! Welcome to the mid-century club! Funny how turning a certain number impacts the emotions. Be free! :)

Wow sounds like you are a special lady with so many friends and family. Fifty is a good number too. I like that you don't care anymore what people think - me too. It felt good to me when I reached that point in my life when it doesn't matter what others think. Hope you are enjoying your day. (My daughter turned 39 yesterday. I'm really feeling old.)
