I'm so excited my purple Iris' are starting to bloom...
and I still have white ones blooming at the same time...
I got a surprise in the mail today...
my sweet blog pal Mumsy from Chancy the Gardner
sent me a birthday card...Thank you so much Maggie...
you are always so thoughtful and sweet...
I also got another surprise...
Two of my adopted daughters brought me a Lily plant...
they are my daughters from another mother and father...
but will always be daughters in my heart...

I usually join in on several meme's during the week...
this week I haven't...just felt like I needed a little break...
I'm behind in visiting......
this week I just felt like doing my own thing...

I've been feeling like getting back to the basics...
do you ever feel that way???
My hubby is going to put me up a clothes line...
I love the smell of sheets and towels just off the line...
I'm getting ready to get my garden planted...
little britches has been helping me dig in the dirt...

I was showing him how to scoop up the dirt and put it in his dump truck...he didn't want me to put the dirt in his new dump truck...
he started shouting...No Chuck...No dirt...
(chuck is the name of his dump truck...a tonka truck)
it is okay to put rocks in Chuck...just not dirt...
so I said okay let's put it in your bucket...
nope he didn't like that idea either....
but he does like sending Chuck down his slide....

I had to show you this cute little pinafore
my Mom made my niece...
she drew her own pattern...
just from an idea in her head...
now why didn't I get that gene???
It is made from a white sheet...and lace she had...
You are so clever Mom...so proud of you...

that is a cute little girlie dress!

sometimes i think we just need to mix things up - and if taking a break from link-ups or posting feels right, then do it. :)

All of your flowers are so pretty, I can't wait for things to start blooming here. That is so funny about Chuck the truck but at least maybe you can get the rocks hauled away.

That little dress is just adorable.

your mother has a special gift/talent with sewing. this is amazing and i love all the things you show us that she sews. i love anything that recycles and this does that. one of the most fun times we ever had at the beach in daytona, was watching a little boy like LB trying to carry the ocean in his little bucket to the blanket where his parents were. they dug a hole and told him to fill it with water. he carried that splashing bucket back and forth and of course the water was gone by the time he came back. we sat in our chairs and had a blast watching him.

Oh gracious! A whole new language for Nana to learn! Exactly what goes in each toy truck! Oh my. Good luck. -gigggles-

LOVE that little pinafore! LOVE all cute dresses, for wee little girls. Missing them, since we have *run out of* little granddaughters. :-)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEEKEND!!!! You do exactly what you want to do, my Dear! It's the privilege of a Birthday Girl.

Such gorgeous iris and wildflowers! I am so happy right now...the sun is shining again. It was cold here for two days and we had a good bit of rain, which of course was great but then it actually SNOWED in some parts of Tucson yesterday! We got some sleet here in my neighborhood. I was frantically covering the plants in my new garden! :-) Today the sun is shining down on them again.
