Road trip part 3

next stop was a local park for a little outdoor fun...
I went to this park as a kid...
it has changed a lot...

we are actually getting some fall colors this year...

the birds were enjoying the warm temperatures...

the ducks were using the wind to soar....

this one decided to put on a little show..
he looked like he was leading an orchestra...

there were a couple of gull flying around...
putting on a great air show...
it was a fun day....
me and my camera....just snapping away...
soaking up the world around me...
Have you ever broke tradition on Thanksgiving?
served untraditional food??
how did it work out?
Hubby and I have been thinking about shaking things
up a bit this year...doing something different...
We have always done the traditional dinner for Thanksgiving...
but on Christmas we do Mexican food or BBQ...
hmmm maybe we will swap this year...
being the wild and crazy folks we are...

I love the duck on his tail and the gusl that look like they are performing and airshow, by touching wing tips. and who knew crows took baths? maybe your color is there because of the drought. we have always had turkey dinners on Christmas and TG, one Christmas we had ham, but wished we did not. and 2 christmas we cooked nothing and went to the beach on one and to a state park on the other. go for it, and i think Pizza for Christmas is right up my alley

You take the coolest pics....each one frame worthy.

We stick to traditional food on the holodays. Turkey for Thanksgiving and ham for Christmas.
Even though we are going to my sister's for TG day....we will leave a turkey cooking in our oven. What is Thanksgiving without leftovers to eat on during the decorating days that follow?

2nd pic. Sooooooooo pretty.

More "Bathing Birds"! ,-)

I'm afraid this family would never be able to *handle* a different Thanksgiving Menu. :-)

But Christmas is not always the-same. So I guess we do sort-of change around, a bit. But not Thanksgiving! LOL.

But if you feel like it, do it!!!

Looks like fall there!! I love my Turkey....hubby isn't crazy about it...so I always have Turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas...but then our Thanksgiving is a lot sooner than yours...so you would have two turkey dinners very close!!! (this year though... I will have be celebrating USA Thanksgiving...too...:)

Amazing photos of the birds! Most/all of our Fall color is gone as are the leaves from the trees. That snowstorm did them no good.

Thanksgiving stays pretty traditional since I don't cook it, LOL. We always have it with close friends of ours.

I have tried unusual things before from Southern living magazine, and have never been disappointed. ALL of their recipes are super. Love your photos. One of those gulls actually thought was an owl at first.
