Today I'm joining Watery Wednesday

these were all taken on our recent visit to the river....
something about water is so relaxing...

my holiday calendar is really starting to fill up...
making plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas..
that will include all branches of the family....

it sure gets more complicated when your children grow up...
 adding spouses or significant others....
now I know how my Mom must of felt when we branched out..
the date on the calendar doesn't matter to me...
as long as we get to have our special day with them...
we have several November and December birthdays too...
a few years ago we started drawing names for Christmas...
it makes it easier...plus we can focus on that one person...
except of course the babies...the babies will get gifts from all..
to me the holidays are about being together...
not the gifts...I prefer homemade gifts....
How does your family do Christmas?
what are your family traditions?
I'm trying to come up with a special/different Christmas photo...
for our Christmas card....now that I have my cool camera...
last year we did a photo of our feet...boots..high heels...baby feet...
this year not sure yet...but the wheels are turning....

I agree, the day is not important, just having everyone around the table is!

Nice shots and yes, the sound of water is very relaxing. I'm looking forward to spending time with my family too. I've been so busy it will be warm and fuzzy to see and embrace them.

TexWisGirl took my idea, but I was also thinking...how about everyone's hats with maybe Santa's thrown in, too?

We drew names for years but then we dropped it and just give to the children in the family. I am NOT supposed to give to my three grown one, but I still make them something each year. I always stick in a 2$ bill in their presents for good luck in the next year. It is something I did for my own children so now I have added the grandkids. Red Santa hats on everyone....a tie on beard for everyone....red outfits on everyone....I know you will come up with just the right thing. genie

My dream is to have a place on the river some day!
I love the sound of water-
I know what you mean about complicated holiday plans.
We just do the best we can-

It DOES get more complicated when the 'kids' are grown and may have families of their own. So far I have the honor of hosting Christmas Eve. I have let it be known that in years to come I would be happy with a special day....any December Sunday or Saturday night....whatever. I'm with you! As long as we get a special time to have the family I am happy. SO far all four of my children and their spouses and 'others' will be here this year. Can't ask for more than that!!

Well, silly me I clicked out of your blog, but then remembered and came back to see what you were talking about...right now I am drawing a blank for anything unique but still Christmas.
