My cross...

My Mom made me this cross..
she made it from wooden stakes...
The pearls belonged to my Nana...
she was the inspiration for Ladybug from Texas...
the Ladybug was a pin I had bought...
we wore matching ones to Nana's funeral...
because she was and will always be our ladybug...
the horse shoe came from my Grandma Nancy...
she was quiet the gal...
they say dynamite comes in small packages....
it sure did in her case....
she loved to fish...
treasure hunt at garage sales....thrift marts...
or even dig through others cast aways....
She was married to my Grandpa Nolan..
took a firecracker to keep up with him...
Wish they could have all met my little britches...
oh would they have loved him....
so next time you see a ladybug...
it's just Nana stopping by to say Hi....
and if your digging through for treasures...
know that Nancy is there cheering you on...
why I named my blog....

What a sweet sentiment....I always think of you when I see Ladybugs, ever since you told me the story of your Nana...

Oh how sweet! I was wondering when you used that one photo for your header last week what we were actually looking at. I could tell it was pearls and a ladybug pin, but the family attachments to it all are wonderful!

You said you were going to explain how you became Ladybug from Texas. Is it to honor your grandmother? :)

What a wonderful story. I have a ladybug pin from a Texas sister-in-law. I should wear it or display it to remind me of her.

That is so sweet Deb. Lovely tribute. Love the cross and how your mom fixed it up. I know you miss them. Are you a firecracker too? lol. I'll think of you and Nana when I see a ladybug.

What a lovely memory of nana. Now I know where the "ladybug" came from...I have wondered about that a few times.

It is beautiful! And great memories for you! My grandma was a firecracker too, with a lead foot. Boy did she love to drive fast! Memories are great!

What a creative way to display things in your life that are so meaningful.
Love that there is a story behind each piece.
