Textures and patterns......

while the weather was yucky on Sunday...
I walked around the casa...
and looked for patterns and textures...
these are a few I found...
went to a little fundraiser last night...
On the Border donated 10% of  the total of our bills
to a local school for their Broadcasting classes...
who can pass up Mexican food...and helping kids...
It was a nice Monday break....
One of the teachers there is a drama/theater teacher....
she has a class with all special ed students...
this is one of her favorite classes...
she sees such developement in them...
she told us that some are downs syndrome....
mental retardation...autistic..handicapped
they are so eager to learn...
some didn't speak when they first came in...
now they won't stop...
she uses acting to help them with real life experiences..
they pretend they are boarding a bus...
they have to have a pass....know where they are going...
and know when to get off the bus when there stop is called...
they play restaurant...with table clothes...napkins...
they have to speak up if there order is wrong...
most have only been to fast food places......
so learning to order from a waiter or waitress...
making choices from a menu...manners etc...
is a great experience...one little boy even pulled
out the chair for his female classmate....
something she said her other students would have
never thought to do...is was so nice listening
to her stories and seeing the pride in her eyes...
I'm sure their parents have noticed a big change in them...
so of course I knew I had to share the story with you...
my sweet blogging pals...

A wonderful true story! Heart warming. And what a blessing, this teacher is. She has a gift for this, and is happy to share it and use it.

If you see her again, please tell her that this Blogging Buddy of yours, was awed by your story, of her work.

Hugs & ♥'s...

And you my Dear, have a marvelous "eye" for photography! You use this textures-idea often. And it's great.

But first, you have to SEEEEEEEEEEE the possibilities. That's where the photographer's "eye" comes in.

I'm sure we all are surrounded by textures. Of course we are. But ... we .... don't ... notice ... them! You do!
