Warning...I'm on my soap box...

Watching the news this morning....
I decided I need to get on my soap box...
just a little..so if you decide to stop reading...
I understand completely....
our government needs to stop over spending...
local...state...and the government as a whole...
when we as citizens are running out of money...
what do we do...we watch our budget...
cut out excess spending...work together...
well as soon as they cut a program...
someone is going to be really upset...

how about if we stop expecting the government to pay...
why don't we lend a helping hand instead..
let's go back to the good old days...
when families helped each other...
barn raisings...potluck dinners...
neighbors help each other...
mow a neighbors yard...repair their fence
churchs take care of their community...
if a school program has to be cut...
why not volunteer your time to bring it back....
if you plant a garden...add a few plants..
and take the bounty to your local food bank..
or start one at your church or school...
how about we Americans take care of each other...
and stop relying on Uncle Sam...

volunteer your time...
donate materials...start a program...
barter for services...
donate your reward cards to schools..
or non profits...
if everyone does one small thing...
just think how much money can be saved...
and maybe....just maybe...
we will all feel better....

the sun is rising....
so should we....

I do love a good soapbox post! LOL.

Everything you said makes too much sense, therefore, it will never happen.

Of late, Dear One, I have been trying to avoid all my usual sources of "news." My health will not support it. -sigh- I can become so worked up, and upset, and worried..... And at 73, I can't afford, that *luxury* any more.

You are young. Stand on your soap box. Call for wisdom. Our Beloved Country needs all "of you," we can get.

Woo/hoo, Amen, Yes yes.... I so agree with you...every little bit that each of us do, is better than handouts from the government.
