Dandelions...



Most people think of them as pesky weeds....

some people cook with them....



1 qt. dandelion flowers
1 qt. water
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 box Sure-Jell
Cook together for 3 minutes the flowers and water.

Strain and save juice.

Follow directions on Sure-Jell box using dandelion water.
Bring to a boil, then add 4 1/2 cups sugar and lemon juice.





you always know spring has sprung when you see them...


kids love to blow their seed every where....



 photographers love to take their photos in the various stages.....

some believe they have Health benefits

I don't know that I want to eat them....
but I do enjoy looking at them....and of course photographing them...
have you ever ate Dandelions???

That's different! My great-grandmother would make wine with them.

I have never eaten them! And, the dandelion jelly is new to me, too! Very interesting, Deb! Thank you for sharing!

Doc goes crazy over dandelions in the yard. I'll have to let him know he is throwing away good jelly, or maybe some good wine.

have had dandelion greens in salad. my dad used to make dandelion wine too and we had plenty of sips. :)

The dandelion wine sounds interesting. I have heard of it in poems and songs.....never tasted any.

Never have. But I could. A zillion times over when they're in full bloom in my yard:))

I can honestly say that I have never tried one. I knew that the leaves were used in salads but I didn't know about the jelly and wine.

I'm not much of a dandelion kinda' guy. On the one hand, I think they are pretty. On the other, they are considered weeds. If I didn't live in a neighborhood and was out in the country, I'd just let 'em be and enjoy the colors. Have I eaten them? No. Would I consider it? No. Ha.

When I was a kid, my aunt used to go outside & cut the leaves to add to salad--I can't remember if I ever ate them, though. Some people also make wine with them.
