Feeding time...

It is feeding time for the starlings...

look closely and you can see
the catch of the day....

the starlings make trip after trip...
bringing back food for their babies..

I had a little excitement with a Starling visitor...
I had my office door open to pull  in some fresh air..
I was working at the computer...and heard noises...
I assumed it was the sparrows on the roof....
much to my surprise...
a starling come flying into my office...
banging into the window...
scattering papers...
well I grabbed my appointment book...
put it on my head....and took off...
I opened the other door....
and went outside....
I know you thought I would have grabbed my camera...
but this bird was scared....and so was I...
so I banged on the window from outside...
and it finally saw the light of the door...
and flew outside...it came not too far from me...
it set their awhile...it was definately loopy....
after a few minutes it took off flying again...
I'm so glad little britches hadn't made it yet...

being a bird is hard work....
later in the evening hubby and I were watching TV..
thump something hit the window in our bedroom...
you guessed it a bird hit the window...
we got up to look to see if it was okay...
and a hawk flew by and grabbed it...
flew away....of course I grabbed the camera...
but it was long gone....
quite a day for birds....
not sure what type of bird hit the window..
we never even got a look at it...
I guess the hawk was in fast pursuit...
Starlings were up in the pecan tree...
screaching loudly...I'm afraid it was one of them...
no more signs of the hawk....
what a bird day....

well, at least the bird hitting the window was a meal for the hawk. i hate it when they fly in, break their necks and die for nothing... even my barn cat won't eat them if they're already dead when he gets 'em. and at least the starling left without you having to catch him! most birds i end up having to throw a towel over to get them back out of the house...

Happy bird~day!!! Heeeheheh...sorry I couldn't help myself. I truly do need to work on my self~control!

I had a hawk out on a fencepost today just waitin' to feast on the songbirds I feed. He thought he'd found himself an all you can eat buffet.

Have a beautifully blessed day without any more scenes from the movie "The Birds"! :o)

How scary to have the bird fly right in your office! Yikes! Glad it all turned out OK.

Ewe. I would have freaked with a bird in the same room with me! I'm glad he left without further action. Scary.
