Honey Locust Tree

this is one thorny tree....
not good for climbing that is for sure...

It would make a good guard tree...
they do have Honey Locust trees that are thornless...
This tree makes the Mesquite Tree look mellow...

hope you have a thornless day....
Send a little prayer up for the folks in West Texas...
hope they get the fires out soon....we can smell the smoke here...

I've never seen this tree...... it looks deadly to climb.

I love Mesquite..... I grew up with many, many mesquite in west Texas.

There are several thornless honey locust trees outside my office. They are very pretty in the summer, but those tiny leaves are a real mess in the fall.

see - you taught me a new name today! we had one of these spiny creatures in our back woods and i had no idea what it was. it's fallen now and rotting, but it could have impaled you if you ran into it!

Yikes, what a tree. Think you have shown this to us before. I doubt they are all over.

Yes, I worry about TX and being so dry and fires. Oh sigh. It's west TX, you say... I didn't know.

Gentle hugs,
.....♥.....

Being a tree hugger would be a bad thing if you come across one of those thorny devils!

I don't think I'll replicate that tree in beads, LOL! Sounds like you had a great weekend. I'll pray for some rain for West Texas.

Very interesting tree and shots. I have never seen a tree like that. I wouldn't want to tangle with those thorns.

Will continue to send up prayers that TX and OK get rain and the fires all stop. Hugs

I wondered if you were close to the fires. Hope you get some rain and/or the firefighters are successful in putting it out.
That tree has a lot of thorns!
