Busy Tuesday

well it was a busy Tuesday...

I think I'm three days behind...

hopefully I will get caught up by the end of the week...

Winding down the holiday weekend...

it is so much fun to splash with little feet...

nice way to cool off in this Texas heat...

it is also niceto find unexpected treasures...

found this nest with 2 babies and an egg...

the father came back to check on them...

and it was a cardinal...

this is at our property in the country...

they made their nest in the Honey Locust tree...
it has built in protection....

I enjoyed watching hubby give daughter shooting lessons...

she's a pretty good shot...

I enjoyed watching my Mom shoot also...
they are brave gals...
(hubby must be also....)

he got to do some shooting also....
me I shoot with my camera...

we've been having problems with our veggie garden...

we went to the nursery today and may have solved our problems...

we added more manure and cottonhull mulch to add nutrients...

we are keeping our fingers crossed...

photo shoot went well.....

but these were all taken there too...

a old stump used as a planter...

and I have to old stumps in the ground...

gonna have to do something about that....

speaking of Toads....

look who was under Rooster's pool....

he/she was not at all interested in a photo session.....

Paw Paw brought it over for little britches to get a closer look...

he even petted it.... so he is a real boy now...

and yes Oma sanatized his hands afterwards....

I think Mr/Mrs. toad would like one of those toadstools now..

this one might work out just fine....

A jungle adventure...

The Lion decided to go on a jungle adventure

with little britches and Oma...

the lion roared when he saw the pretty flowers....

little britches loves the mail boxes...

so does lion....

the lion felt right at home in the jungle grasses....

little britches thinks this is a good spot for our next photo...

I think lion likes it too....

little britches loves flags...

we always have to stop and watch...

fire hydrants are a big favorite of little britches...

the lion roared so I think they are a favorite of his too..

I think our jungle adventure was a success...

the lion looks ready for a nap....

We made it through the storms.....

thank you to every one checking in on me...

we had quite the storms last night here in Texas...

lightning...thunder....hail some baseball size...

rain...winds and tornado sightings...

the clouds were amazing...

I tried to get photos of the lightning but couldn't...

and the hail starting hitting so I high tailed it to the house...

we lost power for 5 or 6 hours...

so we didn't have a clue what was going on...

thank goodness for cell phones...my daughter was at work...

they had power...so she kept me up to date...

my son...my dad...and my mom all checking in...

we were fortunate....people all around had damage...

my daughters windshield was damaged but no other damage...

I'm going today to get a battery radio just for these things...

and make sure we have plenty of flashlights with batteries...
you learn something from everything you experience..
the sun is shining today and it is soo humid.....
you wouldn't even know we had storms last night...
what a difference a day makes...

Sunday I was able to take Ladybug for a spin.....

she sure rides smooth....but she is a regular bicycle...

no gears...so you get quite the work out on the hills...

it was fun with the wind blowing in my hair...

we've had some spring weather lately...

thunderstorms....lightning...pea sized hail...

my prayers go out to the people of Joplin Missouri...

the mushrooms are really enjoying the weather...

Do you remember in the 70's when mushrooms were popular decorations?

knick knacks....artwork....dishtowels...calenders....

the weather has been good for the gardens though..

my cantelope it really taking off...

I ate my first tomato last night...it was a small Roma...

sure was good...

I'm looking forward to American Idol tonight....

I really like Scotty and Lauren...

they both seem like good kids...

They are both winners in my book...

they are calling for more thunderstorms late afternoon...

I hope they take it easy on everyone...
