Meet my new friend...

Wilamena....a gift from my Mom...

when we got back from our fishing trip...

there she was....

 it has been a crazy few weeks...

Stringbean got sick on our trip...

A virus...cold...runny nose...coughing...sneezing...

ear infections both ears....

I started feeling bad the next day....

tried all the home remedies...

tried over the counter...

thought I was doing better...

on Saturday it went down hill...

101 fever...aches...chills...

cough worse...hard to breath...

Sunday Hubby took me to the Dr....

Bronchitis with possible Pneumonia...

big shot in the backside...

a bag of medicine...

now I'm on the mend...

not back to normal...but so much better...

Saturday was my son and DIL's 6th wedding anniversary...

they had a crawfish boil....

Stringbean and all the kiddos....

had a blast playing with the crawfish...

they had races with them...

chased each other around...

I went to the party for a little while...

took my camera with all intention of getting photos...

but I was feeling so bad...I got a few with my phone...

now they have a few crawfish living in their yard...

 I told my son...for Stringbeans birthday...

all they need is a bag of crawfish...

and a mud puddle...

the kids would have a blast....

We have had some crazy weather here in Texas...

lots of rain....thunder...lightening...

tornados...hail....flooding...

Thankfully we have not been effected badly...

the rain has been great for my flowers...yard...

veggie garden...

Prayers for the people in Baltimore...

what a terrible way to treat your city...

Happy Earthday....

We had a awesome family weekend...

A mini family reunion at the lake...

With lots of fishing and visiting...

A few fishing lessons were given...

Friday night I was the Queen Fisher ...catching 5 fish in 45 minutes... All were released to go and grow...

Lots of time on the water...

My beautiful daughter all relaxed...

Just good ole family fun...

 I miss blogging...

but it just seems like there are not enough hours...

in a day...to do everything...

I want....or need to do....

 my Stringbean will be in kindergarten this Fall..

so I am trying to soak up as much time with him...

as I can...

 we have been working on our Family Veggie Garden...

if I can keep certain animals...

mainly Athena...from running across it...

we should be in good shape...

the soil is really good this year...

just by following Stringbean...and all the critters around...

We have really been having Spring Weather here in Texas...

these April showers should be bringing...

lot's of May Flowers...

This weekend I get to go see Bluebonnets...

Saturday was Girl Day....

My Mom...Niece and I....

had a fun adventure....

 Our new library opened up a few weeks ago...

we walked down to take a look at it...

it has a really nice children's area...

can't wait to take Stringbean...

after that we headed to the park...

 my niece is quite the climber...

we brought a picnic lunch....

 I'm thinking she might become a mountain climber...

no fear at all...

 there were a lot of Canadian Geese...

I bought frozen peas and corn...

I had read an article that said bread is bad for the ducks...

 come to find out...

my niece likes frozen...well defrosted...

peas and corn also...

she fed the ducks and geese a handful...

then ate a handful herself...

It's been a while since I've had the pleasure..

of spending time with a little girl...

I'm so used to boys...

she traveled like a true...

Hillbilly Princess...

Our time went by way to fast...

We talked about going fishing...

on our next girls day....

 March flew by....

I hope April moves slower...

so I can soak it all in...

I planted some Brussels sprouts last year...

one came up...it took all fall to produce...

now it is flowering and going to seed...

such a pretty plant...

it made it through all the snow and ice...

 my sage is blooming...

it smells so good....

 there are signs of spring everywhere you look...

 Stringbean is enjoying the outdoors...

so is Athena...

they are pals...

until she plays too rough...

or he plays to rough...

or she chews up a favorite toy...

or takes off with one of his shoes...

but they always go back to cuddling and loving...

 Ginger is such a sweetie...

cleaning his face for him....

she will be a good little Mommy...

 Hubby is really making progress with our kitchen...

2 counter tops are in...2 cabinets are in...

he worked really hard to get a lot done for Easter...

we were suppose to have 16 guests...

my half brother and his girl friend didn't get to make it...

he has been putting in a lot of over time...

My daughter in laws sister couldn't come until later..

so we ended up with 13...

Stringbean and my niece had a blast...

even though they had to hunt eggs inside...

it rained off and on all day Easter..

It didn't dampen our spirits though...

Hubby cooked a brisket and ham on the smoker...

everyone brought goodies to add to the meal...

my daughter makes a really good Sweet potato salad...

My Mom brought her delicious kale salad...

her her famous chicken and dressing...

My DIL brought her famous deviled eggs...

this year Paleo style...

My SIL brought pinto beans...

Strawberry shortcake for dessert...

my Step Mom brought regular potato salad...

she was going to bring Banana pudding...

but things didn't go well...

she thought she had bought instant pudding...

well 2 were the cooking type one instant...

she realized when she was mixing...

so she tried to cook them...

needless to say...it didn't work out...

I made a fruit salad with strawberries...blue berries...

black berries...raspberries and oranges...

as always we had way to much food...

we really enjoyed our day...

I had just gotten out of the tub...

putting on my clothes...

when I heard a sweet voice...

Oma...Oma where are you...

Never show up to a event at my house early...

I'm always down to the last second...

My Mom and I had planned to go to a Sunrise Service...

Easter morning at a local Cowboy Church...

I knew what I was wearing...was really excited...

A storm blew in over night...

The Church had a back up location...

I woke up with a terrible sinus headache...

I called my Mom...she had one too...just not as bad...

so we decided not to go...

about the time we would have been leaving...

another storm blew through...

Heavy rain...Thunder Lightening...

it was a good thing we didn't go...

I took some sinus medicine...

went back to bed for a while...

woke up feeling much better...

then jumped up...went to work on the removal of more dust...

with all the construction...

it has been an endless job...

I'm long winded tonight....

Hope all is going well in your world...

don't forget to stop and smell the flowers...

enjoy a little nature and tranquillity..

 oh to be a 4 3/4 year old boy....

full of energy....

full of questions...

 full of wonder....

full of imagination....

 turning a box into a dog house...

then a convertible car...

then a rocket ship...

 eating a snack...

watching bugs...dogs...birds...

getting all riled up...

when you find out what happened to Jesus...

taking a stand on being good...

getting rid of the bad guys....

counting the days till Ginger has her puppies...

so much going on in his little mind...

every day is a new adventure...

We are so blessed to be a part of it...

 I don't know what these plants are...

the blooms are awesome...

the bees love them...

so I'm leaving them until they stop blooming...

 I am so loving Spring...and all that goes with it...

Bubbles...blue skies...

 soaking up some rays....

 getting my hands in the dirt...

yes I'm a girl that loves dirt...

my seeds are sprouting...

my spinach is growing like wild fire...

We have a big bowl of salad going at all times...

Stringbean likes to walk up and pull off a leaf...

and eat it...I have to keep reminding him...

we have to wash it first...

I've been digging in the dirt...

and have the biggest....fattest...worms...

I'm so doing a happy dance....

Please say prayers for my Uncle...

he had to be rushed to the hospital tonight...

waiting for results...
