Day Trip...

Tired of being inside after the week of cold...
Hubby, Rooster and I decided to take a little trip...
we headed to one of our favorite spots...
Cedar Creek State Park...
the lake where we spent a lot of time this summer...
one thing that we had been wanting to explore was...

Penn Farm we never seemed to go this summer...
so I layered on the clothes...packed up the truck....
and off we went...

we had a good time exploring the old farm....
the hand crafting was amazing...
we thought about all the hard labor...
blood...sweat...and I'm sure a few tears...

it was fun poking around the barns and buildings...
thinking about the people and animals that had once used them...
Rooster enjoyed all the smells....

this is a working windmill...and it was sure spinning for us...

Hubby said I think we have someone watching us...
sure enough....a buzzard was checking us out...

we saw lots of spider webs...
after we explored the farm we headed over to the lake area...
more to come....

Christmas Day...

 okay not my best photo...
but I wanted to show you the cute bag my Mom made me...
we were not exchanging gifts this year...
but that didn't stop Mom...
she did something for all of us...
 Hotrod loved his puzzle...
yes he decided to wear his Woody shirt for Christmas...
(his Halloween costume)
this is the apron Mom made for my daughter...
well I had to do a little something for the girls..
so I made a Peppermint sugar scrub...
had the jars...had the ingredients...

it's just sugar...a little food coloring...
vitamin E oil...baby oil...
a crushed up peppermint cane...
it really feels good on dry hands or feet...
can also be used as a body scrub..

this is the apron my Mom made DIL...so cute...
my daughter also knitted us girls circle scarfs...
she just started knitting and did a great job....
she also made Hotrod a stocking hat...

my daughter got Hotrod a camo tent...
it was a hit....he can zip and unzip all by himself...

a little snow dance with his Mom....

On Christmas Eve Eve....
we took  a little road trip...
the whole family...
to go see my Dad and Step Mom for lunch....
we took 2 vehicles...
my son and hubby went hunting on our property...
the girls and Hotrod headed back home...

my daughter wanted to take her car...
so hubby and I rode with her...
I got to sit in the back sit...and enjoy the ride...
while hubby sat in the front...and told her how to drive...
I took a few photos while flying down the highway...
played with my phone...got caught up on facebook...blogger..
texted my daughter in law back and forth...

the great grand parents got Hotrod a camoflauge truck...
let me tell you he was so excited...

 hugs all around...
Great Grandpa did a good job...

This is my present...
I love him...now to come up with a name for him...
the visit was nice...just went by too fast...
Us girls and Hotrod had a fun trip back home...
we cranked up the tunes...and sang all the way home...

it is also COLD...I don't enjoy COLD....

Hotrod enjoyed it...for a little while....
thankfully he was done playing soon...

looking at snow in photos...or on TV...
is awesome....but in person...just too too COLD for me.....

Tonight was observation night at dance class...

he hammed it up for the audience...

it brought back memories of my daughter at 2....
she was the same way...
 these babies were just precious....
I got some really cute videos...
a little black mail for the future (LOL)...

a little ab work....
Christmas is just around the corner...
the excitement is building...
