I miss the ocean air.,.the smells and the sounds...

So thankful for the few days we had there...

And that I have photos to look back on

Forever in my heart and in my mind...

A great end to my summer now I can embrace fall...

Today was a good day.....

We had a nice hike.....

In a beautiful location 

This was the bay side then we went to the ocean side

Rooster loves the beach

it's not a real focused photo...

but the joy on these girls faces...

while they are picking on their brother...

speaks volumes to me...

I don't know who had more fun...

the kiddos...the ducks and geese...

or me...

there is just something about the innocent joy...

watching children interact with nature...

I have found what works best for me...

is just talk to the kiddos...

let them be themselves...

you can say smile...cheese a million times...

but just getting them to loosen up...

be themselves...that's where you find beauty...

 I went to our fall festival last weekend...

we have had our sweet granddogter Hatari this week...

her Mommy and Daddy have been in Alaska...

so I have taken advantage...

we went on a 3 mile hike...

she is the energizer Bunny....going and going and going...

I had the privilege of spending time with her and her sweet Grand Quads...

They are sweet 3 year olds...so well mannered and well behaved ...

For their reward for being such awesome models...I brought cracked corn for them to feed the ducks...that is when the fun began..

but a cold...or cool front is headed our way...

my Zinnias are still blooming...

tomorrow is milkshake Wednesday for Stringbean...

he starts reminding me on Monday...

He is learning Spanish in school...

he loves to come home and tell

Aunt Didi what he has learned...

they speak spanish together...

She had her first Substitute teaching job today...

I think she will be great...

she has been teaching dance since she was 9...

she is a natural with kiddos...

I'm happy we have a indoor pool close by... So he can swim this winter...

Now that our lakes are reopened we plan on getting use of them..

I have lost 3 chicken so far... One of my original group died as a baby chick not sure why... One of the brat pack escaped Athena ate her...yesterday as I was taking in hay Louise slipped out the gate Ginger ate her...farm life is not easy...

September is here...summer is leaving too fast...

I don't feel like I've had a summer except for the heat of course....

Seems like I blinked and it was September...

The nice thing about Texas is you can usually do summer things until October...

That is just what I intend to do...

We are going to get to go to Galveston this month...

So excited to get my toes in the sand...

My daughter and her guy get to go to Alaska this month...

Mom gets to take a cruise in October...we are a blessed family...
