Happy 26th Birthday to my wonderful Son....

He loves to fish...hunt...play music...

taught himself to play the drums...and the guitar...

he has grown up to be a wonderful man...

we are very proud of him.....

can't believe he's married with a baby on the way...

to buy a live real tree for my FIL's house...

will be decorating...and baking.....

My dad and step Mom came into town today...

and brought me these for Christmas...my Dad made them...

I found this idea when I was sitting waiting on

hubby at the dentist last week....so I gave it a whirl...

I baked cookies for my Dad and filled up

the lunch sacks....put the cookies in ziplock baggies..

dropped in the lunch sack...punched holes...tied ribbon

added a tag...and your gift is ready...going to do this

for my neighbors...and FIL's neighbors...

This time of year everyone thinks of Children...

but don't forget about Senior citizens...

and people that live alone...and don't have family

coming for Christmas....these little bags...filled

with goodies would be great....we have a tradition

every year for the past 8 or 9 years....I do a Christmas

craft and drop off at a local Nursing home for the patients..

this year I did stockings out of red felt and decorated with lace...

just a little something to add cheer to their rooms....

I'm getting more and more into the Christmas Spirit...

Christmas Memories....

One Christmas when I was in the 8th grade....my brother and I
wanted 10 speeds for Christmas....we had moved into a neighborhood
that had sidewalks....we had always lived on the outskirts of town...sort of like the country....and now we finally lived where we could ride places...
we got up Christmas morning....no 10 speeds under the tree....well I thought maybe for my birthday in March....we opened gifts that were under the tree...mostly family games...we took our gifts to our rooms...my brother came in and he was really mad...."I can't believe we didn't get the 10 speeds...all we got were these dumb games"....I was easier going....disappointed but not mad....my Mom called us into the den.....guess what was in there....you guessed it...2 ten speeds.....I was very happy....and I think my brother was a little embarrassed for the way he acted.....

On my son's 2nd Christmas we bought him a tricycle....we kept it in the trunk of my car until he went to bed....my husband went out to get it...and a few other things that were in there...well....he layed the keys down in the trunk....and shut it....before taking out the tricycle that he still had to put together....and guess what...that was the only set of keys...well we were young and dumb.....he had to pull the lock off the trunk to get the tricycle out and then put it together....by this time is way 2:00am......when my daughter was 2 my husband took that tricycle and repainted it for her for Christmas...she is 5 years younger than my son....she didn't know it had been her brothers....she loved it just the same....we actually just got rid of that tricycle this past summer.....

One year when my daughter was 3 or 4 ....she wanted cowboy boots more that anything else in the world....so I found her a red pair...kept them hid away....well after all the gifts were open....I realized I forgot to put out her red boots....so when she was not around....I hid them behind the tree...then had her go to straighten something on the tree...and she found them....she wore those boots with everything....

So many memories of Christmas.....

Tree or no Tree that is the ?

After much debate...well not really...

we decided we're not putting up a tree this year...

we will be celebrating Christmas at my FIL's and

decided we will put up a real tree there this year...

and we were all really too tired too put up 2 trees...

but I'm keeping our other traditions going ...

mailing out lots of Christmas cards...
you know it's getting harder to find Merry Christmas

Cards...so many are Happy Holidays...I refuse to buy them...

baking for the neighbors....so I'm still getting alot of my Christmas spirit...Happy Tuesday..

Photos and ramblings....

Hubby and I took a little road trip on Wednesday

to Corsicanna.....just thought I'd share a few photos

I took.....it was so cold....we had the little snow storm in the

morning....it was nice to be in a nice warm vehicle...

looking out at the cold....Wow...can't believe Christmas

is just around the corner...we're having our Christmas parade

and tree lighting ceremony on Saturday....Sunday a Christmas

show at the dance studio where my daughter teaches (and took

classes since she was 2) Tonight a tap show at the Arts Center....

lots of fun things going on this month....my handsome son

will turn 26 this month.....I've got my Christmas cards done with family photo tucked inside....taking photo today for business to pop in those cards....it seems like the list is never ending....and I have scaled

back this year....our immediate family drew names...so we each only buy one gift this year....I'm not going crazy with the Christmas decor this year...will put up a tree...but not put out all my goodies....

what are some of your traditions that you just can't give up???...

I always do a stocking of goodies for everyone....just can't give that one up......
