I think Hotrod lost hope...

this kite will take some practice...

It is definitely a two person kite....
There is nothing like getting a phone call...
blessing you out...when you know you did the right thing...
but the person will not listen to reason...
I guess some people just expect to get everything for free...
what has happened to our society...
it seems like the blame game is the norm...
meeting half way seems to be no longer an option...
yelling...threating...
common sense....where are you????
 



Flying...well trying to fly a kite....

 the wind was blowing...

so we thought it would be a good time...

to fly a kite...

we've tried to fly this kite at our place...

but it needs more space...

 

 it has 2 hand controls...

a little tricky....

 

 Hotrod was all to ready to help out...

 

 I'm ready Pawpaw...

let's fly this thing...

 

 Hotrod gave it his best....

 

 

 now it was Pawpaw's turn....

 

 

 Hotrod took over the controls....

 

there was more crashing than flying...

but a good time was had by all....

The State bird of Texas....

 look who we met at the park today...

a baby Mocking bird...

 

 it just sat there and posed for us...

Pawpaw explained about the Momma birds...

especially Mockingbird Momma's...

how they will attack if they think their baby is in danger...

(Hubby learned from experience)...

 



 we had wind gusts of up to 30 miles per hour today...

 

 

the Momma bird was keeping a close eye...

 

 she was also gathering lunch....

 

 it was nice to be able to take a break....

get out and enjoy a little Mother nature today...

then back to the office....

May is slipping away too quickly...

some little boy I know...

not mentioning any names...

will be 4 next month...

how can that possibly be????



 It has been a beautiful Sunday....

Hubby and I have spent most of the day outside...

just relaxing and enjoying Mother Nature...

 

 just what we need to recharge our batteries....

there is something so peaceful...

about sitting in nature...

Doves singing their sweet songs....

 

 watching all the activity of the birds and squirrels...

 

 

 here is my bottle cap wind chime...

Hubby gave me the idea to turn it into a bird feeder...

we weren't sure if the birds would go to it...

 

we were gone for a little while...

came back...there was a male cardinal...

sitting on the side eating...

it also looked like a fat squirrel had already been in it...

guess it got the seal of approval....



 it was a busy day...

normal Saturday chores...

then getting ready for my Fun Girls night...

 

 my Hubby worked his tail off today...

getting his junk  inventory cleared off my patio...

he has been cleaning out the shop...

all was sitting on the patio...

right where my Fun Girls night was going to take place...

he got it all done with time to spare...

 

 Hatari enjoying Rooster's blanket...

soaking up the sunshine...

 

 Rooster decided to do the same...

I have know idea why he drug his bedding outside...

I guess he just wanted to do a little spring cleaning...

 we have 2 male cardinals and one female...

that frequent the bird feeders...

they do not like having their photos taken...

so it is a challenge to get them...

 they do a lot of duck and cover...

now if I don't have my camera...

they are just out in the open....

 tonight was a fun Fun Girls night...

we had 3 new girls join us...

all girls I went to school with...

two I haven't seen in over 30 years...

Linda from Linda's Life Journal joined us...

she is so much fun...all the girls love her...

so do I...a blog pal turned real pal...

we both live in the same town...

 

we made bottle cap wind chimes...

I didn't get any photos...except with my cell phone...

I just spent the time visiting and enjoying the gals...

there will be other times for photo taking...

when I get my wind chime finished...

you know their will be photos...

now I'm headed to bed...this Fun Girl is tired...



 I have not been a good blogger lately...

just seems like there are not enough hours in the day...

to get everything I need or want to get done...

my garden is taking up a lot of time...

 

Hotrod has a cold and ear infection...

luckily is he a really good patient....

 



my Mom made this cute tower for me...

the little cherub was my Nana's...

I put it in my garden...

hopefully it will bring some ladybugs...and good luck...

 



I'm busy getting ready for my Fun Girls night....

there is so much I want to have done...

before everyone come's over...

but as usual I will have to scale my list down a bit...

it is what it is...

who knows...maybe someone will want to adopt...

a few dust bunnies...or weeds to take home...

Do you ever look in the mirror...

and say where the heck did that line come from...

I know it wasn't there yesterday...

so happy I have bangs...

they sure do cover up things....

Geeze....not liking lines...

 





 we are getting our April showers in May today....

a few sprinkles off and on this morning...

humidity nearly 80%...

down pours hit this afternoon....

 

 my daughter is healing nicely...

thank you for all the well wishes...

she sent me a photo today...

she looks a million times better...

 

 every time I look at this cactus...

I think...

Put your hands up....

keep up where I can see em....

too many westerns I guess...

 

 I'm having another Fun Girls Night this weekend...

I'm really looking forward to it...

looks like 14 for sure possibly 15...

we are making bottle cap wind chimes...

we have new girls joining us...

girls I haven't seen since high school...

over 30 years ago...(how can that be possible???)

 

 

 I bought these flowers at Lowe's...

$1.00 each....planted 2 of them...

now they have filled up my wheel barrow...

I moved the marigolds...they were getting crowded out...

 

a lot of beauty for a $2 investment...

just my kind of deal...

our garden is really starting to take off...

we should have a couple of squash to eat this week...

we've already been eating onions...cilantro and spinach...

it's work to have a garden...but oh so worth it...

I spent most of the day yesterday watering.....pulling weeds...

transplanting plants...I moved most of my marigolds

to the garden...I've read they will help keep bugs off my tomatoes..

if they don't at least they will look pretty...

 





It has been quite a week...

On Thursday my daughter had 2 wisdom teeth out...

the procedure went well...

when we left the office it was pouring down rain...

we had to drive through construction work...

rain pouring...wind blowing...

we finally got out of construction...

the rain stopped...

we stopped to get her prescriptions filled....

she started feeling queasy....

the people at CVS were getting her a bag...

she opened the door to my truck...

as I was about to hand her the bag...

she blacked out...

fell out of the truck...

my truck is very tall...



she hit face first...

I jumped out ran around to her...

she was just coming too...

she broke her nose...

teeth through upper lip...

cut through her bottom lip...

the paramedics came to check her out...

I took her to the emergency room...

a friend of the family is head nurse there...

she met us at the door...got us right in...

thank goodness none of her teeth were broken...

she had to have the cuts on her nose glued...

they put stitches in her upper lip...

Cat scan showed no concussion...

it was a very long day...

She went to see the plastic surgeon the next day...

he thought everything looked good...

she will go back when the swelling is down...

to make sure everything has healed properly...

her boy friend has been taking very good care of her...

he has not left her side since I got her home...

It's taken me several days to be able to write this post...

I felt so helpless there was nothing I could to do to stop it...

I have to say I never saw CVS employees move so fast...

they were very helpful...

the paramedics were very nice...

the staff at the hospital was awesome...

my daughter is in much better spirits today...

the wisdom teeth extraction had been very easy....

now for the healing of her face...

 

 

we will have our Mother's Day celebration next Sunday...
