A few things about me....

(the Red River)

Thought I would share a few things you might not know about me today...

  • I never left the state of Texas until I was 14 or 15 and my Uncle drove me across the border to Oklahoma...so I could say I had been out of Texas....I was a little disappointed...I expected it to look so different on the other side....

  • I've never had a dishwasher...always do them by hand

  • My great Grandmother came to Texas in a covered wagon...she passed away one week before her 100th birthday

  • I am 4 ft. 11....my hubbies Mom was 4 ft. 11

  • I was a school crossing guard when pregnant with my daughter....believe you meet I stopped a lot of traffic when I stepped off that curb with my stop sign....and my pregnant belly

  • My favorite western is McClintock with John Wayne

  • My blogs name came from my Nana...she always reminded me of a ladybug....so I called her my ladybug...every time I see a ladybug when I'm gardening....I think of her and know she's watching over me...

  • I never learned to swim...

  • I was 7 or 8 before I learned to ride a bicycle without training wheels.. our neighbor Mr. Cook taught me....he put me at the top of a small slope and let me go...it was pedal or fall....I pedalled...

  • My grandfather called my Nana Pete....because he didn't like her given name Edna....my son named his 1st dog Pete....it was a little bird dog....and he would ride in my son's little red wagon every where he pulled him

  • I didn't meet my biological Dad until I was 3o...and he lived in my same town the whole time I was growing up

  • I was in my 30's before I ever flew on an airplane...we flew to Houston...so I could fly before a fall trip to Wyoming....I always thought I would be too scared...but I really enjoyed it....

Well that's a few things about me.....anything you would like to share with us about you????

Confessions of a lazy gardener...

Last spring I decided to start scaling back on my yard work...
it seems my flowerbeds and yard had became a chore...more
than a love...don't get me wrong...I love flowers...I love plants..
I love having a nice yard....but I love fishing...going for motorcycle
rides with my hubby...floating around our little pool...drinking lemonaide or a frozen margarita ... going on road trips....and there is not enough time for all...so I got rid of several of my flowerbeds....and will be getting rid of more this spring....I've decided less is definately more...I think I will
do more potted flowers for the patio and front porch...and have more
grass in the yard...easier to take care of...my hubby is not into yard
work...would rather have cement everywhere...don't get me wrong...
he likes to see a nice yard...just doesn't want to be part of the process..
I appologized to my neighbors for how I had let my yard go....they said...
they enjoyed seeing us taking off on the motorcycle...more than seeing
me out there working my tail off.....so I have became a lazy gardener...
and I'm not ashamed of it....Got any good confessions you would like to share with us????

Some news to share with you...

We found out last night that our

wonderful son and daughter in law

are having a boy.....we are all so excited...

of course we would all be excited for a girl

too....but our son is having a son......

Sunrise...

This is the sunrise I woke up to this morning...
isn't it beautiful....just started my day off right...
it has been a wonderful day here in Ladybug's Texas
hope you had a great one also....

I'm so excited....

As most of you that follow my blog know...

I love sky photos....
I took 100's of them last year....and I will
be taking more this year....last night hubby and I
were out and about....and guess what????
he started noticing the sky.....Do you have
your camera with you??? well....
as any good little blogger...you know I did...
he grabbed it and took a few photos...
they didn't turn out to great because it was
getting too dark...and we were in the car....
and my camera is just a regular digital camera
nothing fancy....but it was exciting...he really
has been listening to me when I go on and on
about the sky...and he is noticing it on his own...
he's even noticing other photo ops too....
it's just too cool....

What do you think???

There seems to be a lot of "hair splitting" as we call it in the south these days....a lot of controversy over statements people make...
If you belong to one group it is okay to use certain statements as long as you didn't really mean them in a bad way...or if you still support that person...but if your not in that group and you don't support that person..well it is not okay...and heads will roll....

I don't know....where do you draw the line??? I've always been under the since....if you can't say something nice....don't say nothing at all....but now a days it's more like if you can't say something nice...come sit next to me...and it is reported every where...

Someone will come up with a text message...a e-mail...a voice mail or
even a recording....or a photo....

If you keep negative thoughts and comments to yourself...and think before you speak....be thoughtful and considerate...you have nothing to worry about....

But everyone at one time or another says or does something that they wish they could change...Should they be forgiven? If they admit they are wrong and apologize or pay the consequences for their actions....is that enough????

It really depends on what gr0up your in...according to politics .... the movie and music industry...

But us folks in the real world....I think we handle it better...we usually handle the matter and get on with our lives....

What do you think??

Doesn't make sense to me...How bout you????

I was watching Fox News this morning and they were discussing the difference in prices on products for Men and Women....like shaving cream...the price for Women's is almost double that for a man....same ingredients...and usually the women's is a smaller quanity....what about women's razors...they never last as long or work as well...but cost more...my daughter and I buy men's razors....they work better...and last so much longer...they were showing Midol and Excederine...same ingredients...but guess what....the Midol costs more....When my husband and I were 1st married he had a bad toothache and headache....he went to the cabinet and took something for it....a little later he was feeling better...I said what did you take... he said Motrin....I said we don't have any Motrin...he went and got the bottle...it was Midol....see it works on men too....he wasn't bloated either (LOL)

A lot of things if you look at the store brand and the name brand....same ingredients..sometimes made by the same company....you are just paying for the Name brand....usually work the same....a few don't...but just think
how much you are saving in the process...

What product or products have you found that work just as well as the higher price....or even better????

Share your finds with us....
