I had a hummingbird last night...

they love the 4 o'clocks...

but I wasn't able to get a photo...

he/she was too fast for me...

big goings on in downtown Dallas today...

the Mavericks are having a victory parade...

and celebration...

thousands of people will be calling in sick today....

guess they have "Maverick" fever....

No "Maverick" fever here...

you won't catch me any where near downtown...

at 4:45am people were already lining up...

for a 10 o'clock parade....

now that is dedication....

or is is addiction???

I just hope everyone minds their manners....

sometimes crowds...turn into mobs....

I'm not a crowds person...

I don't enjoy elbow to elbow...

tends to make me cranky...

I look forward to little britches and I...

spending time looking at the clouds...

seeing what he sees in the clouds....

hearing what shapes...faces...animals...

he might see...

he sees the jets...the birds...the clouds now...

we say Hi and wave to the jets....the birds...the sun..

but soon we will be having long...fun...exciting...

conversations about them....

and I will take the time to enjoy it...

not rush through it because dinner needs to be cooked...

laundry needs to be folded...

we are running late for something...

that is the joy of being Oma...

you realize what is most important...

Officer Mockingbird is on duty...

watching over our street....

and if you know Mockingbirds...

you don't want to upset them...

Deputy Dove is keeping the peace....

a nice ending to a long day....

isn't it funny how when you can't think of anything to say...

you always can find something to say about the weather...

well I'm not going to talk about the weather...

I'm not going to mention triple digits...

I'm not gonna talk about sizzling sidewalks...

air conditioners running at full speed 23.99 hours a day....

(may have to sell your 1st born to pay the bill)

I'm not going to mention plants wilting...

water bills doubling...

sweating uncontrollably...

Nope not me....

I'm not going to resort to talking about the weather...

no one wants to hear about our HOT TEXAS weather...

taking it easy...not so easy....

I have found that I have a hard time

taking it easy when I really need to....

I can take it easy on a normal day....

but when I'm sick....

I have a hard time...

all I can think is I don't want to feel bad...

I want to be doing....

so I over did... and now I wish I hadn't....

so now...I'm taking it easy...

want to be back to normal....

I did take a few photos today....

but these are from a walk the other day....

Tomorrow is Sunday...

the day of rest....and that is what I intend to do...

sinus infection....started the Z pack...

feeling  better this morning....

no big plans for the weekend...

Neighborhood watch....

The neighborhood watch committee is on duty...

they are keeping an eye on everything....

and everyone...

some are singing nice tunes....

some were doing a little squaking....

Mr. Mockingbird was singing a nice tune...

and then they were off...

I guess they had another neighborhood to check on....

Clouds and tea...

I've always enjoyed taking photos of the sky...

these are just a few from the last few days...

not a drop of rain out of any of them...

we've had plenty of sunshine mixed in...

and plenty of Texas heat....

I love iced tea...but can't drink sweet tea...

I have to have decaf iced tea...

I haven't had any caffeine in 15 years....

and I haven't drank a carbonated drink in 14 years...

Four o'clocks and morning glory

I always look forward to my four o'clocks blooming...

they always remind me of my great Aunt...

that is where the original seeds came from...

I also love morning glories....

the heart shaped leaves...

I don't have a lot of blooms yet...

but just seeing the leaves makes me smile...

Does anyone remember when laundry detergent

had prizes in it??

I remember my Mom getting glasses...

dish towels....wash clothes...

oh the good old days....
