My all time favorite Tree...EVER......

The Mimosa Tree...
my all time favorite tree...
I love when it blooms...
when I was a kid I would pick the blooms and put them in my hair...
or pretend they were powder puff...
and rub them across my face...
I always loved the way the leaves felt too...
would pretend they were my fan...
and the pods...
would of course be used for pretend cooking....
I love the fragrance the flowers put off...
I get so excited every time I see one bloom....

What is your favorite Tree????

The sky is the limit....

As I sat at my nieces graduation last night....
I listened to all the nice speeches....
in my head I was thinking...
The sky is the limit....
for the graduates....
some will go on to college...
some are going to do missionary work...
some are headed to the business world...
a whole new world for all of them....
to all the graduates...
high school...college...middle school...elementary school students...
reach for your dreams...
don't let anyone tell you can't do something...
hard work and determination will get you far in the world...
let your voices be heard....
Congratulations Graduates of all ages...
God bless America....
land of the free.....

We got the best end of the deal....

we had a work day at my Mom's on sunday....
I did work...honestly...
just I'm the photographer...
so there is no photo proof...
I trimmed and hauled...

we all teamed up together and got a lot done.....

spring cleaning......

my daughter did a fine job dead heading the rose bushes....
she doesn't want to quit her jobs though and become a gardener....
well maybe some day (won't hold my breath though)...

my husband  doesn't want to change fields ...
he's not much on yard work either.....

we got a lot done...
and for our reward....

Mom cooked fried chicken......

with all the trimmings....
she said if you work like country folks...
you get fed like country folks....

I think we got the better end of the deal....

want some ice cold lemonaide?????

We had a little visitor.....

had a little visitor....

he was checking to make sure the coast was clear....
then he went to town gathering up food....
then off he went on his merry little way...
have a crazy week this week...
my niece is graduating from high school on Friday...
we went to her party last night...
have a dance show for 2 of our dance babies on
thursday...and the heat is hitting....
so I am snowed under in the office....
watching my little visitors outside my window...
helps keep me from going crazy....
what helps your sanity???

Smoke.......

while out running errands...
I saw the smoke...

not sure where it was coming from...
never heard anything about it...

hopefully it was just a minor incident...
it did make for interesting photos...
where there's smoke...
is there always fire?

A storm blew through....

A storm blew threw....

I was out doing errands...
thank goodness I seemed to be ahead of it..

not too far away they got golf ball sized hail...
The skys were amazing though....
sometimes storms can be really exciting...
when they are not causing damage...

I just love the contrasts of the clouds....

Yard Art.....

I love yard art....
what a way to show your unique personality...
what's your favorite art in your yard?

Birds....birds...and more birds....

the doves were eating what had been dropped on the ground..

it was a feeding frenzy.....

they were acting like they hadn't been feed for weeks...

a few patiently waited their turns...

this little guy was sitting on the gate...
when I walked out my office door...

I filled up this feeder this morning...
they almost have it cleaned out...

he's looking for scraps on the ground...

another is watching from the roof....

birds....birds...and more birds....
these are my favorite tweeters...
(Janie...I  borrowed your line)

About towne....

the Methodist Church

the dance studio where my daughter teaches...
the Lutheran church....

just driving around the heritage district of our city...
thought I would share a few photos with you...
I love older homes and buildings...
they have a uniqueness (is that a word?)
about them....they have history behind them...
The dance studio was once apart of the catholic church...
