I had a great date with my Mom last night....

the wedding was beautiful...

the scenery was beautiful...

I did not take my camera with me...

I did get some photos with my phone...

but they aren't great...

 

 I got to catch up with cousins...

Aunts...and Uncles....

it's funny when we were kids...

some of my cousins seemed so much older than me....

now they really look so much older than me...

lol...just kidding cousins...you all looked great...

 

 

 this morning I got up...

went to check out a location ...

where I'm going to be doing a photo session soon...

I haven't been out to the Canal in several years...

there are some really cool spots...

 I  love sunflowers...

when I saw these...

just had to photograph them...

 

it's been a great weekend...

now to rest....

for a new week will begin soon...

 

 



I've had a productive Saturday...

chores....

went for a nice walk...

grocery shopping...



taking a little break...

then getting ready for a wedding...

Going as my Mom's date...

my cousin's son is getting married...

 



My DIL got a new position with her company...

she will now be working full time...

we are so proud of her...

 

 

 I'm still loving my Paleo diet...

I feel better...my clothes are looser...

I can have dark chocolate on occasion...

a glass of wine too...

fruits...veggies...meat...

there are tons of recipes out there too...

one of my favorite is carrot fries...

the recipe calls for using olive oil...

I found I can just put them under the broiler...

no oil...just a little salt...

they are just as good...

Hodge Podge Friday...

Friday already....

doing a little Hodge Podge....

 

I've been scatter brained this week...

can't seem to focus...

I don't know if it's left over from the meds...

or if its the ugly M rearing it's head again...

 

 

my daughter has been decorating for Fall this week...

it is fun seeing her excited about it...

sending photos to me...showing her creations...

 



I've had a few people ask me to do photo shoots for them....

I really feel honored that they are asking me..



 

Hotrod is still loving school...

The Fireman and Fire truck came to visit this week...

he was very excited about it..

 

Pawpaw put him together a  tool box...

with tools...he is having a ball working on things...



 

Three year olds are a bundle of energy....

some days he is so grown up...

other days....not...

what an adventure it is...

he is really into story telling now...

he likes me to make up stories...

we have lots of adventures...

on Rocket ships...jet planes...

hunting for alligators...

going to Venus....

I love his imagination....

going to meet an old friend for lunch today...

fun catching up on old times...

 

 



 It's long sleeve weather in Texas....

I had a visitation to go to last night...

it was nice to catch up with a family I haven't seen in too many years...the funeral was today...

it was a beautiful military ceremony...

he had been in the Air Force....

Rest in Peace JJJ...

you were a Great Man....

 I always have a hard time getting back to my normal day...

after I've had to go do something in the morning...

I just can't seem to step back in...

like after a Dr. appointment...or meeting...

the rest of the day just seems out of sorts...

 I know some people can just get right back in step...

like they were never gone...

I try....but it just doesn't seem to work for me...

 isn't it funny how you can be away from some people...

for years and years...and just melt right back together...

like you've never been apart...

then others...you can just never seem to get back in step with....

I guess some people just keep a piece of your heart...

even if you don't see them for ever...

the moment you reconnect...it's like no time has passed...

I'm fortunate to have had that happen...

 

I was talking about that with my Mom today...

as we waited for the funeral to start...

some folks just stay in your heart....they never leave it...

she has reconnected with people from her past too...

So many blogger friends have a piece of my heart too...

I may never meet any of you...or even speak with you...

but you hold a special spot in my heart....

I love girls that aren't worried about what people think...

 

 Our new Big Tex....

he caught fire last year at the end of the Fair...

a electrical problem..

now he is back....big and strong....

 

 everyone has their photo taken with him....

cameras are flashing all around...

 

 we love hats....

a little too pricey though....

 

 there is a lot at the fair..

not just food....animals....rides...

 

 there is art work....shows....

exhibits....

 

The bird show is one of my favorite shows to watch...

this is the last year they will be at our Fair....

I'm glad I got to see it...

We have been raining all day here in Texas....

the temps have dropped...

we need the rain...but it sure causes problems...

I wish we could have rain at night while we sleep....

 sun shine during the day....

but Mother Nature has her own way of doing things...

Girls day at the Fair was fun....

We had VIP tickets...

VIP parking...

 the wind started blowing...

so the water from the fountain was misting them...

towards the end..it was misting rain...

good sports...

pointed toes...strong arms...

 

but the most fun of all...

was when they could just do their own thing...

I did not get flowers planted today...

I went to two nursery's looking for what I wanted...

oh well....I will find what I want when the time is right...

 

 



 wishing I was here....

 

 we have chances of rain here in Texas this weekend...

we truly need it...

but hope it comes around my outdoor activities...

 

 I have a photo shoot with dance girls this afternoon...

I ordered a better wireless remote for my camera...

it should be here today...

up to 350 ft. away...

so excited to try it out..

 

trying to decide...

clean house...

plant flowers....

I'm thinking the flower planting is going to win...

It is great to wake up....

and feel almost human again....

my lungs felt better with in a day or two...

but then the side effects from the meds kicked in...

lack of sleep...

upset tummy....heart burn...which I never get...

sore body from all the coughing...sneezing...

 



I was asleep before 7:30 pm last night....

finally....good sleep....

it is amazing how rest...sleep....can make you feel better...

now comes the time to play catch up...

on all the things that got put on the side...

you know the fun stuff...

laundry...chores...

my reward is girls day at the Fair....

with a free pass...and VIP parking...

wish you were coming with us....

my friends Dad passed in the night last night...

my prayers go out to the family...

I hope all the wonderful memories they have of him...

will keep their hearts and minds at ease...

He was a kind...caring...devoted to his family man....

which is something we need more of these days...
