I miss the old days....

Do you remember when there was a mailbox on every corner?
now they are hard to find...usually only at the post office...
our post office for our side of town closed...and you have to
drive across time to go to the post office...
my neighbor told me about this one close to our city hall...
it is great when you need to mail something and the mail man has already delivered...
still have to get stamps...I know you can order them on line...
but I usually forget till I need one....I miss the old days...
a mail box on every corner...

Yup, me too. Mail box on almost every corner. -le sigh- Just another one of the "Good Old Days" things, which really were good.

'Cause there are perks from progress. We know that. But so many things-of-progress are not perks. Like this, and like having 26 kinds of cereal to look through and choose from in a grocery store. Do people really neeeeeeeeeeeeeeed 26 diff cereals?!?

Yikes...

One return-to-days-of-yor things I get a kick out of though.... Is that some music is being put out on vinyl! Imagine that?

Our nearest post office closed to a few months back too, so now we have to go to the big one over in the center of the city. It's always crowded. Have to stand in line for everything, plus they took out the stamp machines so you now have to go up to the counter or order online.

Me too!
And I miss pay phones! Is it possible to even find one anymore. Sometimes, you can forget to take your cell phone with you or it's dead.

I miss the good ole' days in a lot of ways Deb. We are experiencing post offices closing around here, and they have taken the stamps machines out too.

I read your last post, and here is what I have to say WOW! Girl a car wash and dinner too.
Enjoy your day!
Hugs,
Sue

So true. I hadn't thought about that. We don't even have a mailbox in front of our house. It is a part of cluster down the street. I remember as a kid being excited to go put mail in the box and raise the flag. My girls haven't seen that. That is sad.
