I feel very fortunate that I have been

exposed to so many cultures through my daughters dance...

we have met dancers from all over the world...

she has been fortunate to take classes from

dancers from Russia...France...Argentina...

just to name a few....now Mongolia...

she trained with the Radio City Rockettes for a week...

performed in California....

took classes in Argentina this summer...

she made friends there from all over the world...

I also feel fortunate that I get to meet blogging

pals from all over the world.....

every day is a new experience....

Mongolian Dancers

isn't this an awesome costume...

the Mongolian dancers did a master class...

I was able to come and photograph it...

this was such a great experience for our dancers...and me too...

the mask is made from paper mache..

the group did a performance...

then they taught a dance class...

they have also been taking a few

dance classes at the studio...

the guys love the tap class...

they perform their dances all over

the country....they are from Mongolia...

but reside in Washington...

I really enjoyed watching them perform...

this was the first master class

they have taught...

they did an awesome job...

the dancers really enjoyed themselves...

I went to the park on sunday...

it was hot....

but I found some models....

 they seemed to enjoy their session...

 I think someone has been preening...

or cleaning....

I thought this was a cool shot...

feathers are fun to shoot...

some folks got rain...

I think we had a few sprinkles...

not enough to notice...

we started out hot...

dropped a bit...

then shot up over 100....

true Texas style...



I admit it....

I'm a squirrel stalker....

I followed this guy round and round the tree...

it became a game for both of us...

had a little sprinkle this morning...

if temps don't drop at sunrise...

today will be the hottest low on record....

I'm very excited....

I was hanging out outside yesterday....

believe it or not under the shade tree...

it was bearable...

maybe I'm getting used to the heat...

the birds were enjoying themselves too...

but were staying in the trees also...

it was nice being amongst by bird friends again...



they appreciate ROOSTERS pool....

so do the wasps and the bees...

Hubby was cleaning the dogs pool...

so I decided to take a few shots...

I love the droplets....

the shapes they make...

made me want to take a dip...

hope everyone in hurricane Irene's path are holding up...

have had a busy Saturday....

went to Walmart...always an adventure...

went to Best Buy for a new laptop...

the old went bit the dust...

went to the thrift store...

found some really cool toys for little britches...

a couple of nice shirts for hubby...

eight tops for me...

spent a grand total of $21.88 with tax...

last night we went to see Larry Luau and the sand crabs..

they did a good show....

as much as we brag

complain about the weather here in Texas....

we are really very fortunate...

my heart and prayers go out to all the people

facing the hurricane...

and the effects of being close to the area...

also to the folks that went through

the earth quake recently....

hoping every one is safe....

with miminal damage....

I confess I'm a weed lover...

I think some weeds are as pretty...

or if not prettier than the non-weeds...

this morning we had a rain shower...

didn't last long....just long enough..

to give a little soak...

I could almost hear the weeds sing...

the flowers Ahhhh...

the birds were rejoicing...

sitting in the trees...just letting the rain

give them a little shower...

then it was over....

and for a few moments...

everything smiled...

grass....trees...people....

the heat came back...

but oh the memory of those few moments...

of doing the happy rain dance...

they can't take that away from us...
