when ever I see this ferris wheel....
It has 45 gondolas...
goes 1.5 revolutions each minute ....
is the most popular ride at The State Fair of Texas.....
the Texas Star® Ferris wheel is the largest Ferris wheel in
North America......
It was built in Italy...
It made it's debut in Fair Park in 1985.....
More than 15 employees staff the Texas Star®.....
it carries riders 20 stories high......
On a clear day.....
you can see the downtown Fort Worth skyline....
some 40 miles away......
I've never rode it but love to watch it...
may just have to try it out this year....
if I get brave enough...
During the Fair it shines under the wattage of 16,000 incandescent red.... white...... and blue turbolite lights...
it is located at the far south end of the Midway .....

Takes your breath away...
It certainly encompasses the saying; "Everything is bigger, in Texas" :-)
Oh to see it at night!
I love fairs! And the ferris wheel pics are just wonderful!
We always go to the Minnesota State Fair, it's an annual event for us!

Have you had any rain yet? Been thinking about you. We are back into the scorching days. Girl - I'm ready for fall already.
The state fair is just around the corner. I hope it cools down by then.
wow! I would love to ride it too.... if I got brave enough?... I hate when you get stopped on top...
i've never ridden it either. afraid of being held up at the top for too long while others are offloaded below. :)
Great pictures of a nice ferris wheel.
Ever since giving birth to my son I have not been able to ride any fair rides without getting dizzy and sick. Ferris wheels were my favorite ride before I could not longer ride.
Hope you can somehow get pictures if you ride the Texas Star. Hugs

O my! I love Farris Wheels. I hope you do go up for a ride this year. Do everything at least once, just so you can say "I did that." Plus, I bet you could get some amazing shots :) Thank you for sharing _B
I think you should ride it this year! Would your hubby ride with you? You only live once---go for it!
That's a beauty--you gotta give it a try! (P.S. Make sure you take your camera!)
I don't know if I'm brave enough to ride it but it sure is a sight to see.
Love watching them from the ground!
Sounds like a great ride! i'd like to give it a try.
