Morning Walk...

 Now that the weather has cooled a bit..

it's not 90 degrees at 7:00 am anymore...

I've started taking Nolan for a walk...

it is half mile from one end of my street to the other..

so round trip I can get a mile in...

good for me...good for Nolan...

 

I decided to bring my camera the other morning...

look who was watching us...

it helps that Nolan doesn't see well...

he never even saw them...

 

 this guy is giving us a friendly little good Morning...

he could clear that fence if he wanted to...

 

it is amazing the sights you can see on your own street...
 



 

sleep over at Oma and Pawpaws house went well...

I didn't sleep well...but here lately that is normal...

the night sweats are better...but still have mild cases...

plus I was checking on him to make sure he stayed

covered up...that boy sure kicks off his covers...

 

 

 

he had fun with Pawpaw...

Pawpaw taught him how to scratch his back on the wall...

wish I would have grabbed my camera...

but was enjoying the moment too much...

they read the Mr. Brown book and ate french fries...

 

 

We have the granddog Ginger this week...

their neighbors tree fell over on their fence...

so the empty nest has not been too empty...

Rooster is loving it....I think Nolan too...

 

Hotrod has a new fort...

we have a closet under our stairway...

it doesn't have a door on it...

the opening is just the right size for a kiddo...

it was packed full of junk...

I cleaned it all out...now he can play in it...

he has blankets and stuffed animals in there...

he wanted to sleep in his fort...

I told him maybe when he's a little older...

my daughter used it as a place to read when she was young..

we had one of those battery operated lights...

I just realized that this weekend is Labor day...

just seems like yesterday it was Memorial Day...

I'm still not letting go of summer....

this morning I got up...

thinking about what I wanted to get done today...

I knew I would have my Hotrod tomorrow...

so I had my day mapped out in my head...

my daughter would start working for me today...

I had projects for her to accomplish...

projects for me to accomplish...

 I put on my walking clothes...

took Nolan for a walk...

then I got a text message...

my DIL was feeling really bad...

had scheduled a Dr. appointment...

could Little Britches come today...

well you know I'm always ready to have him...

so my planned changed...

 

she has strep throat...not fun...

Hotrod is staying the night also...

we sure don't want him to get it...

so my plans changed a little more...

Isn't it funny how we think things are going to be one way...

but life takes us down a different road...

I've learned to roll with the flow...

it sure makes for easier days...

I still managed to get several of the projects done...

my daughter got projects done...

and we both got to spend time with Hotrod...

we had a little rain shower come through this afternoon...

Hotrod and I were about to clean out the pool for a little swim...

the rain drops started...

well Hotrod decided he wanted to run and play in the rain...

so guess what we did...

we ran around in the rain...

it didn't last long...we didn't even get very wet...

but it was a fun memory...

my hair was a mess...my glasses were splattered with drops...

we laughed...see a different path...

but just as fun....

he is faster than lightening....

able to leap tall buildings...

(well atleast climb up on tall benches)

but he still loves being caught by his Mommy....

(insert tons of giggles....)

and then he is off again into the wild blue yonder...

Today was a productive day...

I never even got out of my gown...

hubby woke me up to breakfast in bed...

egg whites...bacon...fresh peaches...orange slices and cantelope... 

I guess that was the boost I needed...

 

 

I cleaned out closets today...

I have two boxes full to give away...

three bags of trash....

 

 

I got laundry done...

made some more powder laundry detergent...

some for my daughter also...
tried a new recipe to make fabric softener...
I will let you know how it works out...

now I'm chilling out...getting ready to start a new week...



my Saturday started out great....
we went to the sprinkle park....

 

 

Hotrod and Oma had a great time...

my DIL grabbed the camera...

I promised I wouldn't delete the photos...

so here are a few....

 

 

we had the place to ourselves for most of the time..

I guess everyone was busy getting ready for school to start...

see I'm still hanging on to summer...

some are letting it slip away...

We had a funeral to go to...

one of our high school pals Dad passed away...

his Dad was a charachter...

he would call at 4:30 am...

This is ole Jerry Thorn...

that rascal of a husband of yours up yet...

or he would pull up in the drive way and honk...

at 4:30 am...

he loved hunting...fishing...racing cars...

his 3 sons...grand children..and great grand children...

 

 

 

 

then we were invited to my daughters new place...

I was the only one that had seen it yet...

so we picked up my Mom and headed that way...

we got there at the same time as my son, DIL and Hotrod...

Hotrod was very excited to see his Aunt Didi's new house...

especially the cats...her room mate has two cats...

My daughter was the perfect hostess....

I was so proud of her...

she had munchies...and all our favorite drinks...

Hotrod terrorized the cats...

we all had a nice long visit...

everyone felt better after seeing her apartment...

on the way home we stopped to eat at Outback Steak house...

had a nice visit with my Mom...

 

It was a good day...

 

 

Changes....

I'm not big on them...

but there's nothing I can do about...

 

 

I'm trying to roll with the flow...

it just seems like too many of them

are happening at the same time...

so many are excited about Fall or Autumn....

not me I hold on to every ounce of Summer...

I don't go easily....

Summer is my favorite time of the year..

second best is Spring....

it's like a new beginning....

 

I see the signs around me of Fall coming...

but I choose to ignore them...

Schools starting...

it's darker in the mornings...

we are in the upper 90's not the mid 100's...

the summer things are on clearance....

 

but I choose to stay with summer...

as long as possible...

going to the sprinkle park...

going to the lake....

eating watermelon....

sugar free popcicles...snow cones...

nope I won't pack up my summer gear till I have too...

I had a busy day today...

I got to have my Hotrod till after lunch today...

My daughter came by this afternoon to pick up some things...

Got to have a nice visit with three of my adopted daughters...

adopted in the heart...

one before she heads back to college tomorrow...

can't believe she will be a sophmore already...she also won a dance scholarship for this school year...

(she was one of my daughters students)

and her beautiful sister (one of my daughters best friends)

with her sweet 2 year old daughter....

 who had a ball with Hotrods toys...

got to visit with my son ....my daughter in law...

a good day all the way around...

Today is my Uncle Tom's Birthday....

Happy Birthday Handsome...

he gets an e-mail of my blogs every day...

he has always been one of my biggest supporters...

Here he is with my Mom and Donnis....
now is that a great looking group or what....

 

 

it was a big day today....

my daughter has her first apartment...

I may not be able to get out of bed in the morning...

 

 

of course it is an upstairs apartment...

I lost count of how many times we went up....and down...

but we got her set up....

 

 

the day went smooth...

we make a good team...

we went in...

 got her bedroom and bath cleaned....

then we unloaded the truck...

got everything put away...

made a second trip....

she still has more to go...

but she can do the rest at a slower pace...

we made a list of things she would like...

things she really needs....

 

I forgot how exhausting moving can be...
but we got a lot done...
so that makes it all worth while....
My nest is empty...
I'm not sure how I feel about that...
 



 

hmmm...does something look familiar...

maybe the HAT....

got a chance to have a photo shoot with Hotrod..

 

 

he likes hats...

I like hats...

so it was a win....win....

 

ooopsss...we traded hats...

a little afternoon snack....

nothing better than a bag of gold fish.....

sitting under the shade tree....

now look...I've lost count...

knit one...pearl two...

or was it left leg...right leg....

oh darn....

 

 

okay I'm trying to be a good sport here...

but you are blocking my light....

 

 

your going to scare off the good bugs...

why don't you go back to taking photos of that hat....

I'm working here....

one survived the drought...

I think her and my Mom have been my only customers...

The Hat part 2

I'm sure other people at the lake where wondering...

what is this crazy lady doing with that hat????

I got a few strange looks...

but I'm used to that....

this hat was a very good model...

no complaining...no eye rolling....

no smile...while underneath saying...

will she ever stop.....

it just sat there all nice and straight...

probably happy to be out of the water...

I let it dry out...shook out all the sand....

guess who had a blast with it yesterday...

Hotrod...he is really into hats....

unfortunately I didn't get a photo shoot....

YET....

I still have a lot more photos to share...
but I will give you a break this week...

we have had a big change in our weather...
a little misty rain this morning...
going to heat up a bit later this week...
but only in the mid to upper 90's...
now that is a cool spell for us...
My daughter will be moving out this week...
I will probably see her more now that she is moving..
she will be working for me 4 days a week part time...
