The water has started residing...
but guess what.....
we have rain headed our way...
Saturday I did a photo shoot here...
for a friends student...
she comes from a large family...
and photos were not in the budget...
we had sprinkles...and a few showers
but nothing major...
that is until I put my camera in my bag...
then it started pouring...
I was parked about a 1/4 of a mile away...
or at least it seemed like to me...
in the pouring rain...carrying a heavy bag..
with fogged up glasses...
I was soaked to the skin by the time I got to the truck...
she was an awesome model...
very easy to work with....
Isn't her Mom beautiful....
you could sure see how proud she is...
and the love between them...
there is a Dad and 5 boys at home...
It was a busy weekend...
Friday night I went to a concert with my Mom...
a Stevie Ray Vaughn cover band...
they were very good...
it was an outdoor concert in our downtown area...
there was a big crowd...
Saturday was chores ...
Sunday morning we put together the GIRLS...
new chicken coop...
still have some work to do...
but they will have lot's more room...
Sunday afternoon we went to the horse track...
meeting a group of my friends from high school...
we are making a point to plant get togethers...
after the loss of our dear friend...
we had so much fun!
then Monday back to work....
I think I need an extra day between Sunday and Monday...
Stringbean is turning 5 this month...
not ready for that!
Cell phone photos...
Stringbean and I went for a walk...
to feed the ducks and geese...
a rain cloud blew in...
no lightening...so we stood under a tree till it stopped...
we got wet...but not as wet as we would have...
the geese seemed to enjoy the rain...
then the sun came out...
we finished our walk...
then headed to the library which is located
across the street...

my first Sunflower to bloom this year...
I can't help but smile every time I see a Sunflower...
Lucy is a camera hog...
she always comes right over to get her photo taken...
I think she is the leader of the group...
Ethyl...is second in line...
then the smallest Linda Lou...
The other two girls are a bit rebel...
so I'm changing their names to Thelma and Louise...
They are all looking quite different now...
it is easier to tell them apart...
I sure hope they start laying this fall...
it seems like we have a egg shortage here in the USA...
because of the bird flu in the plants...
no problems in the free range...or organic chickens...
hmmm does that tell you anything...
The flooding is starting to slowly subside...
our favorite State Park is still closed...
they are hoping to have open July 5th...
which is after the 4th of July...
sure put a damper on our plans...
After a very mild spring...except for all the rain of course...
our temps have really been great...
until...last week...
then Texas became Texas again...
90 degrees and above...
with lot's of humidity...
well we are covered in water...
Today...we finally have our new A/C installed...
we have not had A/C all year...
You know when you do a certain business...
your household is always the last to get taken care of...
It was a crazy week for service calls...
for some reason people like to be cold...
I'm not complaining though...
Last weekend I got a Fitbit...
got one for my Mom and daughter too...
it counts your step...
mileage...
activity level...
even sleep patterns...
My goal is 10,000 steps a day...
or 70,000 per week...
I'm proud to say I got 86,169 steps last week...
my daughter and I challenged each other every day...
sure keeps you motivated...

The chicks are growing up fast...
This is Lucy...
she is always up to something...
It has been a busy few days...
My friends services were Monday and Tuesday...
Monday was visitation...
Tuesday the service...
It was standing room only...
so many people to pay their respects...
Becky touched so many lives...
she always made everyone laugh...
This also brought old school chums back together...
we laughed ....
we cried...
we got up like it hadn't been over 30 years...
Everyone looked in my eyes like they did in school...
sure we have lines...sags...glasses...
grandchildren...
but for a few hours...
we were those kids that had so much fun together...
we made promises not to just see each other at funerals...
there are plans in the works for get togethers...
I will leave you today...
with my crazy girls...
