going to the park with a little boy is tons of fun...

 

 



 there is an adventure in everything you see...

 

moving fast is the name of the game...

 playing with your shadow brings lots of giggles...

stepping on Oma's shadow...even funnier...

 

walking with your Pawpaw and Rooster...

asking tons of questions...noticing cool stuff at every turn...

 

Seeing Mommy and Daddy at the end of the trail....

is the cherry on top....

A sunday morning trip to the park...

good for the soul....good for the mind...

good for the body...

we walked over a mile on our adventure...

Hotrod was still going..and going...and going...

spent another 30 minutes on the play ground...

It was a good weekend...

the weather was awesome...

the sun was shining...

the temps were perfect for being outside...



 

 

 I got to do some of my favorite things...

Friday night Hubby and I cooked a good dinner...

we had pork chops on the grill...

steamed veggies...

Saturday we took Rooster to the park...

went dancing that night...

 Sunday morning Hotrod came over...

we took him and Rooster to the park...

we went on an adventure in the woods...

My son and DIL met us there later...

then we all went out to lunch...

visited with a few friends...

I got to take a little nap...

then My Mom daughter and I ...

went to see Les Miserable

at the movies...

It was a nice weekend...

then he said I'm not a fireman...
I'm a air conditions man...
(air conditioning man like his Daddy and Pawpaw)
another phrase for our Hotrod jar....
he pedaled his tricycle by himself...
as long as I had my hand on his back...
if I moved my hand he would stop...

he will be burning up the side walk soon...

To my Daughter...Daughter in law...any future grand daughters...

there are some things I would like to share...

with my Daughter and Daughter in law...

future grand daughters (if I ever have any)...

things I've figured out...

relationships are not always 50/50...

it is the grand total...not the daily totals that matter...

once you figure that out...your life will be easier...

when you are feeling over whelmed...

feeling like you are the only one doing anything...

look at the big picture...

remember when they did the dishes or carried out the trash...

called you out of the blue just to say I love you...

 remembering the good...

makes the not so good less memorable...

 

and always remember...

please never forget...

Men are Men...

their brains are not wired like ours...

that's what drew us to them in the first place...

don't expect them to magically start thinking like you...

it's not gonna happen...

but you can let those traits endear them into your heart...

not make your brain want to explode...

 



 the sun is out today....

it is so awesome...

to feel the warmth...

it's still cold...but not unbearable...

 Hotrod was able to play in his sandbox a bit...

we had to pull one of his cars out of ice...

amazing what a mental boost a little sun can be...

I've had a productive day today...

 when the weather is dreary...

it dampens my spirits...

so happy Texas weather changes so quickly...

I could never last with cold...dreary weather...

I have not been to the gym yet this week...

tonight I plan to...which will also help lift my spirits..

a little walk on the treadmill with my favorite tunes...

is a great boost....



just look at the craftsmanship of this barn...

can you imagine the hard work that went into building it...

I can only imagine how long it took....

and it is still standing 100 years later...

the snow has melted...but it's still cold...

I reconnected with family from my Mamaw's side..

it's fun getting caught up...it's been 28 years...

it's hard to believe how much they look like their parents..

and how much their families look like them...
