Magic and Sunny are 1 week and 3 days old....

I got her go free when she was a few days old... She was small and the other chicks were pecking at her so the man at the feed store gave her to me.. She is the best layer I have...

Today all 5 hens laid...first time ever!!!!

Day 22 we were worried they weren't going to hatch...patients is key...

It took most of they day...

We could hear chirping...

Magic was first out...

we are fortunate to have so many fun

places to go in our area..

Rooster enjoys going...especially when he gets to swim...

for several weeks we had a group of

Cedar Wax Wings come to visit...

of course it was usually when I couldn't get out of 

the office to go get their photo...

or I was cleaning coops or Rabbit houses...with

no camera...

I love black and white photos...

old fashioned...but give a different prospective...

Buster enjoys a little free run time in the 

raised garden...

this was before the spinach...lettuce and cilantro

were planted...

we are getting a little bit of a late start 

on our ground garden...but

what we are planting will do well...

We had 2 baby chicks hatch last night...

I put 3 eggs in a incubator...

22 days later...we have two cuties...

Stringbean named them...

Magic and Sunny...

the next day...we needed jackets...

Our family loves going to the lake...

especially this place...

which we call The Cabins...

The granddogs love it too...

Rooster and the Girls stayed home...

to keep a good watch on everything...

Bo and Hatari love traveling...

they also love riding in the boat...

they are very well behaved...

last year we were so flooded we didn't get as many...

April almost gone...

2016 moving too fast for me...

Except I'm looking forward to summer vacation...

can't wait to have Stringbean all day....

Wow 2016 is sailing by....

I am so blessed...

we had our 33rd wedding anniversary in Feb...

we celebrated by going to the cabins for the weekend...

lot's of fishing and relaxing....just what we love...

we've been taking several one day road trips...

I love our Texas state parks....

Lot's of time with Stringbean....he really is a Stringbean...

all legs...arms...and body...

a eating machine....

we've settled into the school routine...

we make the most of our time together...before

and after school...days off and weekends...

Still having our monthly Fun Girls gatherings...

everyone can't make them every month...

but we treasure our time together...

we visit...eat..visit...visit...laugh...hug...visit...

we decided from now on instead of trying

to plan one craft for everyone...we will each bring

whatever we would like to work on...or just show

up for the fun...lot's less pressure for everyone...

I can't believe I'm turning 54 next week....

wow...how does that happen....

I don't feel 54...but if I look to close in the mirror..

well you know what I mean...

I'm loving my chickens...5 hens...2 roosters...

we are now getting 3 or 4 eggs a day...

going to try to hatch some after Easter...

We've been having Spring weather...nice

sunny warm days...and then the rain hit this week...

April Showers in March...

 It was a cold weekend here in Texas...

but we were determined to get out...

Saturday the wind blew straight through you...

we went to the indoor gun range...

I've only ever shot a gun once...

and it had too much of a kick for me...

I've shot BB guns...but that does not compare...

so Saturday I took a short class...

then tried out a couple of guns...

I found one that I felt comfortable with...

Hubby was very patient with me...

cause I was really nervous...

but I calmed down...and enjoyed it...

Sunday we went to Mineral Wells State Park...

what a nice quiet day...shooting my camera...

hiking...enjoying the wildlife and outdoors...

 a couple of does were great models...

they let me get pretty close to them...

 the perfect spot for a picnic...

 the lake is very full...over full...

this is it running over the edge to the spillway...

which happens to run across a road...

we were able to pull right up to it...

 I could have set here all day just enjoying the view...

they also have screened in areas with electricity you can rent...

Hubby and are are definitely going back...

to spend a few days...

Saturday we finally had a chance to go to my favorite place...

Cedar Hill State Park...

The last time we were there was in March...

Then tge flooding hit...

The park was closed all summer...a real bummer for us....

Only a small portion is open the lake is still way above level...

It was so nice to be there...
