Remember when rope and a old board
became a swing and all the adventures
you had when you were swinging
hours at a time.....flying through the air
like you were in the circus or you were
a bird soaring through the sky.......
or the anticipation of your turn coming up...
the feeling you would get in the pit of your stomach
as you went back and forth..... and the
giggles you could not control....
It's funny I still get those same feelings
when I get on a swing......I have a swing on my patio
and I love to sit out on it and just leave all my cares behind
my dogs seem to enjoy it also.....
I remember when my children were young
pushing them in the swing.....
listening to them giggle....
there's nothing better.....
then just a swingin'

Hi Deb,
The picture of the rope swing you posted today reminds me of days at my grandparents house swinging away. what a wonderful memory for me. I still like to swing and have been trying to get my husband to put me one up on an old pine tree limb, but I think he might be a little hesitant because I am not that little tiny girl he married> LOL though he hasn't said. lol
Thank you so much for coming by and leaving such a sweet comment.
Blessings,
Sue
Wonder who that little girl might be????? I bet she still loves to swing!!!!
I love the picture Deb! It reminds me of swinging at my grandparents house. Popa always made us a swing with rope and a board or an old tire. I use to love it when he would take time out to push me. Thanks for the great memory.
Love the picture! What great memories. Thanks for the heads up on TexasDaisy. I had not seen her blog before and I appreciate the chance to meet her! Kathy
I still enjoy swinging once in a while, too. It brings back a lot of good memories.
I love my back yard swing, and my hubby loves that song! Just A Swinging!
I miss swinging. I now get to enjoy watching my kids swing, and I get to teach them lots of little tricks (just not the flips I used to do...). I heard one of my sons saying how he was going to fly to the sun. Goodness, that sounded so free. Thank you for the memory... :)
Oh yes ... carefree days!! Love the photos - brings back happy memories of childhood!

Good afternoon Deb, Oh yes, I can remember those days. We had a robe swing in our back yard for years. When our kids were little we had the regular ones made out of medal but I've always had an old wooden swing too. We have a four seater way out in the back yard and I could sit there for hours. I hope you have a lovely day.

Lovely picture Deb - must evoke great memories for you. I used to love being on a swing too and now so do my grand-daughters. I also remember swinging on a rope in the forest with my kids! A x
Every summer my Daddy would put a rope swing with a new wooden seat in the big oak tree in the back yard for us kids to enjoy. What great memories.
Great post.
Pam
