16 days until Thanksgiving.....
I am very Thankful this year......
I decided I will share a different recipe with you...
everyday until Thanksgiving....
These recipes come from our family cookbook
that is dedicated to my Nana...my Ladybug...
Nana's Fried Corn
6 ears fresh sweet corn
1 stick butter
salt and pepper to taste
In a cast iron skillet, on medium heat, melt butter. Turn heat off. Clean corn, then holding
firmly on cutting board (corn is standing up) take sharp knife and slice kernels off cob (not
to close to cob, so you can have more corn milk). Put corn in a bowl and take cobs, using
a sharp knife, scrape downward to get all the juice. Put into previously heated cast iron
skillet and fry, turning often, until corn is browning. Add salt and pepper to taste.
If you decide to try it ....let me know what you think.....
Have a great Tuesday.....

Deb - my grandmother use to make fresh corn like this but I was too little to figure out the recipe! thanks so much... I can't wait to try it!
time change... I like the fall "back" time change just fine... it's the spring "forward" one that kills me!
I love your header photo! who knew old leaf rakes could be a thing of art?! great shot!
I've never fried corn but I know I will love it. Wish I had some right now.
Love your header...your photos are great and what a wonderful recipe...do you want some seeds?
I have never tried fried corn before either. It sounds delicous. I will have to give it a try.
Hi Deb,Fall in Texas looks beautiful. Nana's fried corn sounds yummy and easy to prepare. My youngest daughter is still in Tx, but I have only made it down there once, so far.
that corn sounds so good......would love to have a helping of it right now!!!
Yum, I LOVE fried corn!! I had it fried on the cob in Atlanta lonnnggg time ago. A few years back, we threw some ears in a turkey fryer. OMG, it was so good, brought back my Atlanta memories! :)
