a blue jay came to feed at FIL's feeder...
when it left the feeder...
it flew over to the cats dish...
and stole a piece of cat food...
a pretty cardinal came to feed also...
he liked the bucket better...
I have a horrible time trying to get photos of
cardinals at my house....but at FIL's they just
let me click away...
a cute little sparrow stopped by also...
we bought my FIL this feeder 2 years ago...
1st came the birds...
then came the cats..
so he started feeding them...
then came the raccoons...
and the oposseums....
even a Armadillo has shown up...
the neighbors chickens come over also...
he really enjoys the visitors..
(no matter how much he complains)
a little bird seed...
a little cat food...
instant zoo....

Ladybug you solved a mystery from Along Life's Highway. Someone spotted a top like your pretty singled bird house and I had no idea what it was. One of our players found your site and identified our mystery thing.

I like it when possums and raccoons come visiting :)
Those bluejays are something! But woodpeckers will chase anything away from the bird feeder. The cardinal will stay with the woodpecker and hold his own, but all the other birds scat when woody comes around. They are so enjoyable to watch.
Such pretty birdies. Your FIL is just like my dad feeding anything that wants to eat. My dad makes hard boiled eggs for a fox that comes every night. I think the older we get the more we appreciate wildlife!
