Changes....
I'm not big on them...
but there's nothing I can do about...
I'm trying to roll with the flow...
it just seems like too many of them
are happening at the same time...
so many are excited about Fall or Autumn....
not me I hold on to every ounce of Summer...
I don't go easily....
Summer is my favorite time of the year..
second best is Spring....
it's like a new beginning....
I see the signs around me of Fall coming...
but I choose to ignore them...
Schools starting...
it's darker in the mornings...
we are in the upper 90's not the mid 100's...
the summer things are on clearance....
but I choose to stay with summer...
as long as possible...
going to the sprinkle park...
going to the lake....
eating watermelon....
sugar free popcicles...snow cones...
nope I won't pack up my summer gear till I have too...
I had a busy day today...
I got to have my Hotrod till after lunch today...
My daughter came by this afternoon to pick up some things...
Got to have a nice visit with three of my adopted daughters...
adopted in the heart...
one before she heads back to college tomorrow...
can't believe she will be a sophmore already...she also won a dance scholarship for this school year...
(she was one of my daughters students)
and her beautiful sister (one of my daughters best friends)
with her sweet 2 year old daughter....
who had a ball with Hotrods toys...
got to visit with my son ....my daughter in law...
a good day all the way around...
Today is my Uncle Tom's Birthday....
Happy Birthday Handsome...
he gets an e-mail of my blogs every day...
he has always been one of my biggest supporters...
Here he is with my Mom and Donnis....
now is that a great looking group or what....

I'm with you.....I will hold on to summer as long as I can. It doesn't last near long enough around here.
awww. happy birthday to your sweet uncle! :)
Well our summers are way too short...and I've missed so much as we have been busy packing...We'll have a big change this fall....
HAPPY, HAPPY Birthday to your Uncle Tom!!!
And a big thank you, for being one of our sweet Ladybug's biggest supporters. "Auntie sezzzzzzz." :-)
"Auntie"
You love Summer. You keep right on loving it, and hanging on to it, and enjoying all its pleasures. Especially, the grand pleasure it gives YOU, being YOUR favorite season.
I remember being like you, in that I simply would not, not, not allow Autumn to enter my life, any sooner than its calendar time.
I would grumble about adds for Fall clothes. (Yes, even when young, I used to grumble! -grin-) And grumble, when I saw people who had switched their wardrobe to fall clothing, colors. Etc.
Back then our Aug. Racing Season, really only lasted IN August. Last day, the lovely old track closed up, and all-the-moving-parts-and-horses moved down state again. Summer was over! -sigh- August was over! -sigh- Everything looked dull and icky, to me. -smile-
NOT that we did any exciting things, in Aug., ourselves. But I loved reading about all the fancy parties/events raising money for worthy causes, which the Aug. People attended. It was a wee bit exciting, to a young wife/mother. :-)
How young I was... How sweet... :-)
I still have-my-fun, with the Busy Season. But no longer feel, as if "the bottom-dropped-out-of-my-world", when it's over. :-) Guess I gained a bit of Wisdom, along the way.
But that has nothing to do with you and your love of Summer! Or with your determination to hold on to it! You DO IT! You HANG ON TO IT! More power to you.
And of course, lots and lots of hugs, "Auntie"
hope he has a happy day, and yes it is a beautiful trio. come on down to Florida, no seasons here, you can wear the same clothes and go barefoot all year long
Happy Birthday to your Uncle Tom!
When I was younger I also loved summer but now that I am older I love the spring and the fall best.
It sounds like you had a full but very fun day. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Hugs
I like summer too.....I also have three adopted of the heart daughters! Their mother was my good friend and she died when the girls were 19, 17 and 14. I have stayed close to them and love them so much! They are all married and have children now and I know their mama would be so happy to be rocking those babies!
I'm with you too.....I love spring and summer, but fall and winter are a sad time for me.
Great picture..... !!!
What a great picture! Happy Birthday to your uncle.
