Do you ever have one of those days??
you think do I have a big sign over my head...
that says....
"All strange...lonely...lost souls come here"
you are minding your own business...
going about your day....
walk out of a store...boom....
I had rode Ladybug (my bicycle) to the corner store...I walk out....and a man approaches me...
Do you believe in Jesus?
I say yes I do...he offers me a pamphlet...
I say no thank you...
he questions my beliefs...
he offers again...
I say no thank you....
he tells me he has been passing them out for 10 years...that I should be passing them out too...
he quotes a scripture...
then tries to hand me pamphlets...
I tell him you can spread the word without handing out pamphlets...
he argues with me...
I say no thank you...
have a nice day....
so I think okay...that's over...
I go over to the air pump...
to add air to Ladybugs tires...
guess who shows up....
he asks do you have a flat tire...
I say no...just a little low...
he starts in on the pamphlet again...
now you have to remember...
it is 99 degrees outside..
I'm trying to air up tires on my bicycle...
from one of those coin air pumps...
not an easy task....
he contines with the pamphlets...
I tell him no thank you once again...
he tells me he has met non believers...
that are more Christ like than me...
now I'm sweating...and frustrated...
I give him the MOM look...
tell him Please leave me alone...
he starts up again...
I tell him that I've asked him nicely...
I've tried to be polite...
but now I tell him Go Away....
he finally turns and walks away....

Well aren't you the lucky one! I'm amazed that he wouldn't let it go. The heat must've gotten into his head. Bless you for being so patient with him. You were being very Christlike!
A nice No Thank You at first, to ZEALOUS RELIGIOUS PESTS. Then ignore them.
Or get out your cell phone and dial 911.
We have a right to not be accosted on the city streets. "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness" and all that..........
End of story.
"Auntie" sezzzzzz... ,-)
Bless your heart! My husband says I attract dysfunctional people! :) I guess we all attract something!
It's your eyes......you have such kind compassionate eyes.
Not everyone has a secure spirit. This fellow may have been searching for truth himself. I don't think I have had people stop me like you did. Mostly they come to the door and I simply don't answer. But then I was one who used to go door to door with tracts and invitations to come to church. Things have changed over the years and there are other ways of getting the message out. I wonder what this fellow's 'story' is and why he felt the urgency to confront and persistently pester you?
Must be those kind eyes......
i would not be so patient with that kind of harassment.
i am with Tex, things like this i have no patience with at all. the scary thing is now days, he could be some crazed fanatic. must have had something wrong that he would not take no for an answer. he certainly was not acting like Jesus.
Oh Gosh! I think you handled that very well!!! I don't think (well actually I know) I wouldn't have been as polite as you. (That would have really set him off) ha
You did handle that well. Unfortunately, you just never know about people's motives anymore.
I've had the same thing happen on a parking lot. They were happy young adults pushing a cult message (New Agey). I wonder if there's not some brainwashing going on. Pushers are nuisances, and God never pushes Himself on anyone, but the devil sure does.
Did you look in a mirror just to make sure you didn't have 666 painted on your forhead. That's crazy. Usually you'll tell them no thank you and they move on. Gotta give him an A for being persistent.
Glad he finally left you alone.
