Random things on Saturday......

enjoying the scenery...and good company of my husband

They looked to be enjoying Mother's Day

This guy was packed down with backpacks and bags..

a lot of big trucks on the road

I guess people go here to see if they will win or loose all

their money...lol

It is funny how similiar small towns look...

but also how different they can be....

It is raining here today...had planned on pulling weeds

from my flower beds... and helping my Mom with some outdoor

things...don't know if it is going to happen or not....

hopefully it will blow over soon....got my yard mowed yesterday..

just in time for it to grow another 4 inches by Monday....

Down a country road

My husband accidentally shot his brother in the hand

with a BB gun when they were 6 and 7 in this creek...

he ended up having to have it surgically removed 20 years later

Road trip- the bridge...

I'm going to tell about our road trip a little out of sequence..

we ended up in Shreveport Louisiana after a almost 6 hour road trip

never even thought about going there...saw a sign and decided

why not....I thought this bridge over the Red River was just

so cool so I took a lot of pictures of it....I love bridges...

have more pictures of a different bridge to share with you

tomorrow...It was so nice to get away even for a short time..

we have our own business so we have never taken alot of trips together..

now our son has been with us for so long he can cover.....

so we are going to take advantage and take more road trips...

took lots and lots of photos...my husband was pointing

out things...you need a picture of that......

I'm back

We had a great time on our road trip...

Our first stop was Jacksonville Texas

This barn was built by my husbands Grandfather...

it is also my new header...

My Mom was 15 when she had me....

just a baby herself...we grew up together...

when I was in elementary school she drove a

red 1965 Mustang....souped up....I was so

embarrassed when she came to pick me up....

I just wanted her to drive a station wagon like

all the other Mom's....(How I wish we had that Mustang now)

My Mom was at least 10 years younger than all the other Moms

she sewed all my school clothes when I was young...

I remember going to the fabric store before school started...

it seemed like we were there for ever and ever....

I just wanted store bought clothes......well then she went

back to work full time and didn't get to sew often...

then I wished she would make my clothes....

when she didn't work she would take us on

adventures to the zoo...the park...art museums..

she let us have tons of animals....dogs, rabbits..

birds...ducks...fish...gerbils...you name it we had...she didn't get to

volunteer at school...but she did make our saturday

trips to the laundry mat fun...we got a quarter for candy...

and that would last all week...and we got to go out

for lunch...Burger King was the favorite...or Pizza Hut

for the buffett......

Calling all Gardeners Need your help......

My Aunt sent me these photos and said " I want something I don't want to have to replace seasonally because of my allergies. I want color but it will have to be low sun light."

She lives in East Texas....so gals I need your help any suggestions?????
